-Mayo just cleared to play at the end of September. About 85%.
-New League: MU is in best position it could be in with this new league. Best way to answer questions about the new league is to win.
-This team is overscheduled, relative to the talent returning. Any team is only as good as the returning players. MU has 2 returning players that have actually done anything.
-Buzz is starting to like Derrick as a lead guard and as a leader. Team will only be as good as he is in the lane. Better at limiting turnovers than Junior. Duane needs strength and reps. Wants to be good and understands that he isn't yet.
-No leadership from the upperclassmen during September. DG is the best Buzz has seen at 'cheating a step' during a drill. He is starting to learn that he can't do that.
-Preseason rankings are just words from people who are tired of MU making their predictions look bad.
-JJJ is the best newcomer. Hardest worker
-Fast beats big. He wants this team to play faster than last year, but doesn't really have a handle on the identity yet.
-Buzz isn't worried about recruiting size, per se. The staff wants to make sure that MU is recruiting OKG's (Our kind of guy) Buzz won with Lazar at the 5 and believes he can again with that kind of size as long as it is with OKG's.

Thank you for the link. Enjoyed the PC. His comments about the "fragile line" was dead on right.

So did Buzz pass your 5 year rule?

Yes...it's been so far so good for 5 years and feel good about where the program is for the most part, certainly better than 2 years ago. As a bonus, he is still married which helps to keep the divorce rate well below the 50% rate that is erroneously stated and believed by most Americans.
Touche!
Watching that presser, it is pretty clear that DeWilson is going to be the starting PG. JJJ is the real deal. The seniors have to step up and lead.

Yep--he is the guy to give the car keys to.
Buzzer sure is lighting a fire under his upperclassmen with his words. Trying to keep their egos in check and tearing them down. Lou Holtz was a master of putting players in place preseason when he had really good teams.
I'm down with OKGs.
