That is going to be an exciting team — they have a bunch of good young players. Hope he makes it. Cannot believe Stiemsma makes $2.6 mil.

Wow, it's hard for me to believe that he's the elder statesman on that team.  They are young.

Hmm .. the only thing I read was that Lazar was invited to their camp .. a lot different than being "signed."

Edit .. another site says he was signed for $916k.  Nice.

If anything, that's a great situation to be in: on the Pelicans' roster.

Looks like if he doesn't make the final roster (fingers crossed he does), he'd have a good option to play in Italy according to the next article down in the OP's link. Not a bad spot to be in!

I'm losing track of who's in the league and who's not.  Paint touches needs to do another update on the pros.  So Butler on the bulls, Hayward pelicans, Matthews Blazers, buycks and Novak raptors, wade heat, crowder mavericks, Djo lakers? Then anybody know the pros playing around the world?

Vander sixers and Lockett Kings.  Hopefully both make the final squad.

I miss the good ol' days of only having to monitor the NBA whereabouts of Chris Crawford and Amal McCaskill.

No doubt.

Apparently 8 Straight NCAAs = many NBAers

I remember being really excited in 2008 because that was the first time since 1980 that we made 3 consecutive NCAAs.  Most schools can pour everything they have into a recruiting class or two and build an NCAA tourney team, when you start doing it 3, 4, 5 times in a row it shows that you're winning with many different players.  That's the sign of a program.

Thought we had a program with Wade. Oops, then the bed somehow got soiled and Western Michigan managed to extract victory at the BC in the NIT.

Jerel was just in Utah until last week. Hope the Bucks bring him in to replace Junior?

Easy... end of the bench.

Actually, Crawford amazed me by staying in the league as long as he did.  I never thought he was that good at MU.

You put all those guys on a team and it would be pretty darn good

Crawford used to drive me crazy. He'd get the ball at the top of the key, shuffle his feet, then drain a three that would be negated by the travel.

That said, he had a solid NBA career cut short by injury after 7 years. Based on numbers, he a starter on the MU "All NBA" team of the last 25 years.

Well you figure matthews played with butler and Hayward and buycks and Djo played with Hayward and butler.  So somewhat close.

My first date with my wife was Bucks-Hawks tix* to see Chris Crawford.  That was the spring of '99, he was lighting it up.  Too bad his knees couldn't handle the game.

*my roommate bailed so I called this girl I met the week before, she was a MU fan so she got the Crawford connection.  Now we have 3 kids and when ESPN was hyping MJ's 50th and I told our son that MJ was the greatest of all time, our son said: "Better than Vander Blue?"

So there's a chance.  By the looks of the roster, it looks like he may be competing with Darius Miller (out last night with injury) for a spot.  As good a chance as any.
