The third part of our sitdown with Buzz Williams looks at the reasons behind his intense nature on the court.

Nicely done Strotty....and add another great word to Buzz's lexicon:
Bonzo!
well written.
Thanks
Buzz has coached 5 years and has 122 wins vs the 6 and 147 in the article. I suspose he is counting Buzz's year as an assistant.

Well ya I mean we all know Buzz was the real coach that year.

His one year at UNO likely.

Bus won 14 games at UNO not 25, whereas MU won 25 when Buzz was an assistant. 147-25 is 122 which is Buzz's wins record as a head coach here so it'd be his year as an assistant.

Ha. That's what I get for not looking it up first.

Buzz scouted Kentucky. Buckley had Stanford.

Well that explains a lot.

Yeah, we took the 3 seed Stanford to OT and lost by a point, but barely beat the 11 seed Kentucky. :P

Just goes to show that even with great scouting by the assistants, it can't overcome a deficit at the head coaching ranks.
Did IU just get bounced with 2 lottery picks in the Sweet 16?? Seriously?!!

We almost beat Stanford because their coach got tossed and we shot a bunch of technical free throws. And Jerel was out of his mind. Would have beat them but for a horrible defensive game plan. We never pressured their very weak back court, just let them pass it into the post at will. In the next round Texas turned them over and routed them.

That game laid bare TC's in-game coaching deficiencies. Besides their freshman year, that was the one year the big three were all healthy in March. Easily their best chance to make a run. And he couldn't figure out to press their slow PG.

If Watford doesn't hit that shot versus Kentucky, IU fans would understand.
