Title: Marquette Basketball Team practicing how to give a high five
Post by: lurch91 on September 14, 2013, 05:59:18 PM
Participated in my first Al's Run this morning.  Loved seeing both the Men's and Women's Basketball Teams out supporting the event.  We were on the other side of the median, so we didn't get to wish the Men's team good luck on their season.  But the Women's team was great, they were very enthusiastic and supportive also.  Made me proud to see both teams representing Marquette so well.

Sorry no picture of the Women's team.  I had just put my phone away when we were walking by them

Nice pic.  Tough to tell from the angle, but STJ looks noticably taller than last year.

Yes quite a few people have mentioned it.  And it looks like Cassell sitting there, yes.

Men's head basketball coach wasn't wearin' any "light in the loafers" sunglasses, was he?

I hope they practice the more sophisticated Slap of Five.  Requires a high level of coordination.

Clearly they didn't practice this last year when Vander was on the team. Good to see learning from our mistakes

That "incident" and the outrage that it spawned was two years ago.

Bigger travesty - failure to practice high fives or failure to practice free throws?

ESPN's SportsNation (hosted by Colin Cowherd and Charissa Thompson) countdown of the 101 all-time celebration fails.

#70 is Vander Blue not giving a high-five to Derek Wilson.

Lurch, you are a legit 6'4.   How tall did STjr and McKay look up close?

McKay seemed to me be the tallest Warrior, although he wasn't standing next to O'tule.  Taylor Jr. seemed to be as tall as Gardner, again they weren't standing next to each other.

I guess we'll have to have to wait to an official release by the MU athletic office (website update, game day program release, etc.).
