Determined to boost men's basketball attendance, UM is about to unveil some of the most creative ideas we have ever seen from a local team. Besides dropping most season-ticket prices by about 50 percent, UM will add a hot tub, a sandbox and lifeguard tower in the student seating section -- students will be encouraged to attend in beach attire -- and elsewhere in the arena, in-game shoe-shines, massages, haircuts and a computer work-station will be offered.
Interesting strategy.. think it'll work?
Ticket prices should..
the hot tub may attract some but those people will probably be less involved with the game than a normal fan..
sand box - seriously?! are they all 2 year olds or something??..
lifeguard tower would be a cool idea if you put the student section leaders in there and give them more visibility to lead the cheering..
in-game shoe-shines - huh?! if someone were shining my shoes while I was watching basketball they're liable to get themselves kicked repeatedly.. besides, who goes to a game wearing shoes that require shining?!
massages - that would earn the masseuse a elbow to the face a few times I am sure.. say, every Fitz three made..
haircuts - hell no is someone cutting my hair while I am jumping up and down..
computer work-station - yep.. confirms it.. UM fans must have their priorities ALL wrong if this is an attraction for them..

If some of the biscuit that has to go to Miami is in the hottub, then yes it would be a good idea. If it's a bunch of dudes, then no. ZFB is all about the first option.

Sounds just like what baseball has become. More importance to the stadium entities than the actual product on the field. What's next a Kidzone where they can dunk, rain threes, and block some shots?
A hot tub at a basketball arena screams "bacterial cesspool" to me. I don't know who in there right mind would get in it.
A number of those ideas are also used at the St. Paul Saints minor league games .. (part owned by Bill Murray).

yeah.. there's a minor league team down here in frisco texas (called the frisco roughriders - i kid you not) and they have a swimming pool right behind left field.. during few games I've been to (in the regular seats of course), the people in the pool are playing rather than following the game.. further, I've seen them scooping out many a ketchup laden hot dog and even more accidentally dropped beer/margarita/soda glasses.. no thanks.
just remembering some of those sights gives me a gruesome mental reminder of seeing the Joe Schmoe (what a great program that was!) episode where one of the characters revealed she was on a "porked and beaned" food fetish porn video.
Dude, have you seen the girls at UM!? Now they'll potentially be attending b-ball games in a bikini!?
I think I need to visit my sister in Miami a couple times this season.
Dude, have you seen girls at MU?! I'm glad it's cold up here in the winter...and full body clothes are required...

the sad thing is when I come to the Marquette campus I am excited to see the girls... you act like its bad at Marquette... come to platteville... then talk.
Haha, I apologize then.
Actually, having married a Marquette girl...I have to say they are the most beautiful babes this side of the SEC.
