Title: Most animated coaches
Post by: MUDrag on August 24, 2013, 12:10:28 AM
I know people don't like bleacher report, however, I thought this was good.  Nice to see Buzz continue to get strong pub.  Can only help program and help keep Buzz at MU.

Slideshows suck, they just use em to jack up pageviews. just stick em all in the same article, convenient for some readers (like me)

What a dumb list. Jim Boeheim is about the least "animated" coach I can imagine...maybe second least after Coach K. Frank Martin? Yes. Buzz? Yes. Those other guys? No.

The only animated part of Boeheim is his face.

Is he demonstrating how big he is to all of the Bloomington faithful in that last picture?  Weird.

In February, Bleacher Report had the 10 Most Fiery Coaches in Basketball, and Buzz was 10th.  Bleacher Report is awesome.

Blurb on Buzz doesn't even mention Buzz getting down on all fours to try and wipe the carrier deck court dry before the Ohio State game was cancelled.

He was rated #1, called "a one-man assembly line for YouTube and GIF gold", and you are complaining that they didn't give enough examples?  It says right in the article "we could go on like this for awhile...".

The only thing belcher report is good for is reading the 'author' backgrounds.

In the case of this one.. "I'm a 2011 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University."

Not just related to belcher, but these types of articles are mindless crap. No meaning, no relevance, no nothing. It's just entertainment for small minds. Fortunately for people who peddle this crap, there are a lot of small minds. (Not attacking one in this post - except maybe warriorchick (j/k)).

Thank you WarriorChick.  I think people on this board need to lighten up.  Knowing the board's feelings for bleacher report, I even qualified my post by stating such.  While Bleacher Report is not the most professional publication (esp with who is allowed to post) , you can't deny the fact that CNN is a popular site.  The intent of the post was to emphasize how it can only add to Buzz's notoriety.  The more well known Buzz is can only help the program and MU's ability to keep Buzz.  I know the post wasn't written by Katz or a well known ESPN writer, however, it was on the front page of Bleacher (which is linked in the CNN site).

BTW I actually enjoyed flipping through the slideshow to find out Buzz was #1.

I agree with you...except Frank Martin. Have you ever watched a game with him? He could give Buzz a run for his money easily. I went to a K State game once and could hear him clearly over the roar of the game. And I was thirty rows up.

Might want to double check what he wrote.

Definitely many fit that profile, but the hiring of King Kaufman has helped them get a bit more serious in some ways.

At the end of the day, most of the writers at Bleacher are unpaid...you get what you pay for.  On the other hand, you also have a lot of passionate men and women writing about sports, some is crap some is ok.  Take it for what it is.
