y not good going into new league without top returner and HC...
To go along with Whittington and potentially Nova's Pinkston (plus losing Vander early). Not a good start.

Butler wasn't going to be very good with him.

Likely a tough opening Big East season for the Bulldogs. With Jones, I didn't really see them doing much more than maybe scrapping for 6th or 7th. Without him...jeez, worse than SHU and DePaul, maybe?
Well, all I gotta say is we better win the BE this year...

Or else Golden Zebra won't be sending in his annual $5 donation to the Blue and Gold Fund.
IMHO, all this does is take Butler from a 8th place finish in the new BEast to a last place finish. Its definitely a blow to the conference but it may result in some spreading out of the conference wins. Butler was a team that could win 5 or 7 conference games. Those wins can now go to other teams that will be on the bubble and may need a push into the tournament. Helps us get 5-6 teams in the tournament rather than 4-5.
Not the way you want it to happen though. Tough break for a great competitor. Wish him a speedy recovery.
I think I'd be more sympathetic if this was going to be an up year for Butler but I think this could end up being a good thing, a fantastic player gets an extra year and the lesser players get a year to adjust to the intense BE play.
Suddenly, everything is coming up DePaul.

Or else willie again will say Buzz had better recruit a big man.
The injury happened during the first game of Butler's Australian tour.
For those who believe only wonderful, team-bonding-type things can happen on these kinds of tours.
Too bad. I was kind of hoping for a fun rivalry with Butler, but at this rate the school will likely be hit by a meteor before the semester starts.
