Title: Player / Recruiting Notes from Las Vegas
Post by: Jay Bee on August 02, 2013, 01:58:08 AM
Some notes on miscellaneous players from last week's evaluation period are at LNH (http://latenighthoops.com/lasvegas-2013/).

A few guys with Marquette interest (and Noskowiak) are mentioned.

I came away liking Jabari Craig quite a bit.

Saw many others not mentioned in the link.

Not related to the Vegas tourney, but I read Marquette (and a slew of others) has offered Louisville decommit Quentin Snider, Rivals rank #31.

JayBee - Any idea of how involved Buzz is with Craig?  Seems like he'd be a great fit.

I think MU remains involved with Craig, but assistant coach Autry may be leading the charge. Lots of possibilities for Jabari still, but my feel is that MU is in the conversation. Marquette offered in the second half of June, after Pangos but before the July evaluation periods began.

A couple other items of note re: Jabari Craig - he's only been playing basketball for a few years (soccer, track, etc when younger); Jay McNeilly, MU's Jamie's brother, has been involved with his Jabari's travel team - Northern Kings - as a coach for some time.. not the 17U coach, but...; Craig is Jamaican; from Toronto & played HS in Georgia last season; plan is to play in VA at Fishburne Military Prep this year.

Sounds like MU is solidly in there for Craig. Not sure what all his options are, but he seems to be one of our top big man targets.

Man, he wears the #33 well.

Looks like a bigger Butler dominating the paint!
