The ex-wife of basketball star Dwyane Wade says she's owed at least $1 million from endorsements and other income, alleging in a lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court last week that Wade has engaged in a conspiracy to deprive her of the money.
Siohvaughn Wade is suing her former husband, his attorney, his financial adviser and companies with which she believes he has endorsement deals for allegedly refusing to uphold an agreement that required the money to placed in a joint bank account.
The suit alleges the ex-couple had a contract that required that all of the Miami Heat shooting guard's income from endorsements and marketing contracts plus half of his July 2006 NBA contract income be deposited directly into a "mutual account."
Instead, the lawsuit alleges, Wade and his agents and attorneys have made an "end run" around the agreement by deciding "when and how much of those funds should be deposited into the mutually agreed upon account."
Siohvaughn Wade complained in the lawsuit that she has been unable to pay her mortgage and insurance on her home and car.
The two were childhood sweethearts and were married in 2002. Wade, a native of suburban Robbins who attended Richards High School in Oak Lawn, filed for divorce in 2008, according to the lawsuit.
Wade's attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment
bat.
sh!t.
crazy.
If Wade agreed to put his endorsement money into a joint account with his ex, that has to be one of the dumbest compromise or agreement ever. Why have joint anything with an ex when you're talking millions of dollars. He's asking for constant baby momma DRAMA!

Remember that only one side is doing the talking here.
Just another chapter in a long, sad story that never seems to end. She is out of control. I know there are plenty of people in the world less fortunate than Wade's sons, but I still feel sorry for those boys.
There are always two sides to every drama--but by most reliable accounts, his ex is a fruitnutcake. Anybody know how much she has already received/is still receiving?

There are no doubt two sides to everything and it's certainly possible that Wade has his faults here, but his ex has filed numerous lawsuits against him that were ultimately withdrawn or thrown out by the court. The fact that Wade was also granted sole custody of his kids is pretty telling in terms of the type of person Siohvaughn is.

I agree, but I'm not sure that makes her a "fruitcake" as some have implied.
I'm sure Dwyane and his legal team will work it out. Hopefully there isn't a lot of drama around the kids.
I think the fact she's blown through about 10 lawyers, some of whom asked to be excused, may qualify her as a fruitcake.
She's withdrawn this one, too.

She is a wounded duck that has let her obsession for revenge overtake her rational decision making.
