Huge news for the Big East. Creighton's Grant Gibbs granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. Could be a game changer 4 the Bluejays.

Usage not very high considering how efficient he was, but that's just because of how many shots McDermott takes

Dana O'Neil and Andy Katz tweeted that this makes Creighton the favorite to win the big east, I told them they were nuts and to stop under estimating Buzz. I'm pretty sure they took my message seriously.

In this article it states Doug McDermott will now be a walk-on for next season!

Some analysts are jumping on the Creighton wagon, and Mike Decourcey of the Sporting News says MU is still his favorite.  This all should make for a great Big East opener this year.

Too bad they can't defend.

This is great for the league. MU and Creighton should both be ranked for most of the year.

I see what you did there.

I agree with O'Neil and Katz. Creighton is the favorite this year. I would love to say its us but we have to face the facts. Creighton was actually ranked ahead of us in KenPom last season. Even if you don't buy KP, you have to agree that they were close to our level. They lose 18% of their offense this year whereas we lose 44%. We can still win it for sure, but we are going to be relying heavily on Duane and JJJ to make an immediate impact.

We beat them in talent, they beat us in experience.

All in all, great news from the conference. Creighton is talented enough to be top 10 next season and maybe snag a two or three seed. Can only help legitimize us

Does Gibbs' return propel the new Big East from being a lowly mid-major conference?

If only we had Dayton...

This will definitely keep our offense rolling, we have some more athletic guards coming in as well who can create off the dribble so our offense should be atleast as good as last year.  The question mark for us will be our defense because losing Gregory Echenique will be tough on the defensive side of the ball.

Believe it or not, Creighton's bigger challenge will be Off, not Def (as comp'd to 2012-13).

Crap. Forgot Jermaine Marshall (PSU) is a possible add for Creighton as well. Who's next to convert to a walk-on?

We were definitely looking at Jermaine Marshall hard, however, I heard he cancelled his visit to Creighton after Gibbs got his 6th year.  Coach Mac isn't the type of coach to kick a player to the curb last minute.

Sounds like Marshall got the Big Mac Sack
