New website coming soon.
http://www.bigeast.org/
It's Independence Day! No more dealing with football schools and their new CUSA friends.
Lead story- "Times, Television Announced for Select 2013 Football Games"
Can't stand the AAC! They've been posting crap.
Really bummed about Louisville losing to Oregon State in baseball.
So it's 9:45am on the east coast and the American Athletic Conference has two websites and we have none.

They did post a benign sort of "We're here!" on Facebook this morning.

Here's one: http://www.theamerican.org/ (http://www.theamerican.org/)
Not sure about a second...unless someone was referring to this http://americanathleticconference.net/ (http://americanathleticconference.net/)

bigeast.org
The lead story is AAC Football Sked and TV Listings are coming soon. Other top stories include Louisville & UConn baseball, Memphis & Uconn hosting conf tourneys, etc. There is a AAC logo and link to that website also.
But any stories of Val Ackrman, Bill Raff, New Year's Eve Hoops? No.

That's been changed now, as posted above.
I know nothing about Val Ackerman or how she normally looks. However, does she always have the burn mark on her lip. Kind of the doobie smoking or pipe smoking burn mark?

I've refreshed bigeast.org a few times to clear any cookies etc. It's still AAC content. But hey I love Cuse LAX so it's cool.

I just get the landing page that was posted above with Val in the middle. Nothing to click on besides Twitter and Facebook buttons.

It's tough to beat a Beaver
Looks like ESPN doesn't know who is in what conference now.

For a holding, "website coming soon" site, it is not too bad. I would have expected they would be ready to launch today, but whatever; bigger fish to fry, I suppose.
That said, the Val Ackerman picture is pretty amateur. Did they really need to cut and past that picture in there? It looks cheap and terrible.

Website should have been operational today. Inexcusable.
I think the conference should keep the logo.
The logo looks great. I agree that they should keep it.

Agreed. They needed to have more than a simple landing page.
landing page is fine. They've had a lot to do in little time.
But why even have Val's mug shot on there? does any one person define the conference? No. the collective schools do. It's not as if she's some household name that will create excitement? (though I don't disagree with her hire).
Butler, Creighton & X are all out pumping up this move to their respective towns and you would hope locals there could have a place to go and learn more about the conference. This is why some ADs were complaining to Dana O'Neill about not having an infrastructure in place already. From a marketing & PR perspective it is a big missed opportunity.

They've had four months since the membership and name issued as been settled. Plenty of time.

Fantastic news, Vander is coming back to play in 2013-14! (According to ESPN's Marquette roster)
And yet BigEastDaily STILL has the football helmets of the old big east teams as the wallpaper (including WVU!!), yet posted an article about Seton Hall 3 hours ago. What the hell is going on?

The "landing page" is still all there is - Val stuck in the middle and the team logos in (almost correct) alphabetical order.
