The Indiana Pacers released veteran point guard Darrell Armstrong on Monday.
The NBA's third-oldest player last season, Armstrong, 39, posted averages of 5.6 points and 2.4 assists over 81 games after he arrived in Indiana through an offseason trade with Dallas.
After failing to get drafted out of Fayetteville State in 1991, Armstrong played in the minor leagues and in Europe before signing with Orlando as a free agent in 1995. He went on to earn the NBA's Sixth Man award in 1999.
Also, Indiana added centers Courtney Sims and Lukasz Obrzut to the camp roster.
***Looks like he's a solid back-up for Tinsley.
NIIICE!!
I liked his chances even before then. Even with Tinsley, Diener should see some decent minutes. Last season was Tinsley's first full season since 03', as he enters his 6th year.
Not hoping injury on anyone...but... ;)
