I got all excited till I realized it wasn't our Deonte Burton.

I just realized the same thing. Looks like the selection committee will have a made-for-TV reason to put us in the same bracket this year. (I have no doubts about us making it, just them)

We have a well deserved reputation for developing bigs.
Well, we
should have a well deserved reputation for developing bigs.
And going forward, this will help with recruiting those aforementioned bigs. :)

I think that was true of Majerus but I'm not as certain about today. Otule and Gardner have made progress but it has not stupendous. I have no idea who works with our bigs on their game.
Under Crean and early under Buzz we had the reputation as a small player, guard school. Under Buzz the bigs are playing more of a role. Otule and Gardner have shown great improvement since freshman year. I believe that Wainwright is responsible for coaching the bigs and he had a lot to do with developing Tim Duncan at Wake.

Well, there was a reason we were known as a guard school under the Bronzed Beast of Bloomington. Hard to grow grass in the desert.

Probably not. I've gone to their headquarters for basketball before (as media). It's the US National Training Complex and there's a guard at the front of the parking lot that checks you in - your name usually has to be on their list to be OK'd to enter.
I think media and family, coaches, etc. will be allowed to watch most of the on court stuff early on, but I don't think they'd open it to the public.

That's the guy!
The main gym is a bunch of courts with very little spectator room. We sat on fold out chairs on the baselines and sidelines.
I think the games from Russia will all be viewable online..

Thanks for the shot Ra Ra. I love Gardner and hope that he has an outstanding senior year. My only complaint is that we have not recruited a quality big out of HS for years. I do believe that not many were enthralled with gardner at first, but many have started warming to him.
