Damn that was fast. Per Jeff Goodman. Seems like a total major-upside kid with a lot of buzz lately.
Daaaaaaaaayum nice! I had a feeling on this one. Kid seemed psyched to get the MU offer. Love getting the 2015 class started so early, and with a guy so high on MU like Duane Wilson. I'm sure he'll do his fair share of in-state and AAU scene recruiting for us just like Duane. Really like this pickup!
Just got an awesome thought - get Cohen in the mix too and Buzz can sell Stone & Ellenson on the Wisconsin pride aspect, making a championship run with Wilson, Burton, Noskowiak, Cohen, and the missing pieces down low. This could legitimately happen. I'm irrationally excited about the potential for this to come to fruition.
Awesome, very exciting news. I would think that the biggest targets going forward will be Okonoboh, Stone, and Hill. That would set us up very well for the future.
Awesome, everything I read and heard about this kid is that buzz loves him( and obviously buzz knows more about players he thinks will work than any of us) and that he is a rising star this is a great signing

Is ranked in the mid-40s in the 2015 class and his skill rankings (1-10, shown mid-screen) are all in the 8-10 range. Really excited about this.

Never even heard of this kid today but now that you mention it I did see Jamie McNeilly showing a family around campus today which I though was a little odd. They were traditional so I guess it could have been them.
Love seeing Wisconsin kids who want to go to Marquette. It will certainly help the attention we receive in the state and hopefully attendance, too. Oh, and he can play.
AAU team is the Warriors.
Just meant to be.

What impact does this have on Cohen's offer? Would we take both?

Yes, I believe 5 for 2014 if Buzz doesn't fill the last scholarship this year (Gardner, Jamil Wilson, Otule, Thomas, plus 1 already open) and 2 for 2015 with Noskowiak's verbal (Mayo, Derrick Wilson, McKay).

Marquette got on the board in 2015 recruiting Tuesday evening as point guard Nick Noskowiak (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) committed to coach Buzz Williams following a recent unofficial visit. Noskowiak picked the Golden Eagles over offers from Iowa State and Creighton.
Nick NoskowiakCourtesy of Reggie RankinMarquette pledge Nick Noskowiak is one of the better passing point guards in the 2015 class.
"I just fell in love with the coaching staff," Noskowiak said. "I felt in my heart that Marquette is where I want to be. What really got me is how hard they work and how competitive both the coaches and players are in everything they do."
Noskowiak, who runs with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors 16U AAU squad, is one of the toughest, smartest and productive point guards I have seen this spring. He was easily one of the best players on the floor at the NY2LA Swish 'N Dish Spring Warm-Up in early April.
In Noskowiak, the Golden Eagles are getting a true point guard who has an excellent feel for the game. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is an excellent passer with an ability to knock down open jumpers from all over the floor. Noskowiak can play at different speeds, equally adept at pushing the ball in transition as he is walking it up in the halfcourt set.
He plays with his head and eyes up looking to probe the defense to create scoring plays. He is deceptively quick, makes excellent decisions and shows a strong understanding of time and possession for a player his age. His passes hit receivers in stride or right in their shooting pocket, leading to open looks for teammates. Defensively, Noskowiak understands ball pressure distance and containment and is a very alert help-side defender as well.
It's safe to say Marquette has landed an in-state floor general with the physical and mental makeup to help the Golden Eagles continue to win at a high level.
I like the endorsement from Rankin. From what I can tell he's typically on point with his evaluations.
How does Koenigs compare to this kid, both seem physically pretty strong kids. I am sure by the time Nick gets to MU he might be at least 6'3", about the same size as
Koenigs. I really like Koenigs game, great passer, good shooter, he will be a star at UW.
Love it!

It's ridiculous the bitterness on that board. I mean the dude has 2 yrs of high school left and does nothing but keep on improving his stock. The majority on that board feel we r reaching and assume UW passed even tho someone said UW has seen him play 10 times.
I didn't grow up in WI and just don't understand the level of hatred from them. It truly is on another level.

Just watched his game, it is hard to believe how good these kids are at such a young age. Fuller looked pretty good to, they had a nice team. Seeing Stone and Nik, it is hard to believe

No idea if its true in this situation, but I could totally see it. I know I rolled my eyes when buzz seriously tried putting Russell Wilson and Trent Lockett in the same conversation. Buzz's comparison of Wilson and Lockett was in terms of stepping into a new team, being a leader from day one and, more importantly, being accepted by teammates as a leader from day one.
Their hatred only gets worse as Buzz's team continue to beat Bo's team - 2 years in a row and counting now...

"What he could use is another free-agent signing like Trent Lockett. "But those guys are one in 100,000," Williams said. "I've never seen any beside Russell Wilson and what Trent did for us have that kind of impact." "
You do not put Wilson and Lockett in the same comparison even. Leading as a QB like that is different than leading like Lockett. Wilson had to bring both the skill and emotional leadership where Lockett was just emotional.

I'm not sure what's got your knickers in a bunch here.
Wilson was a key player - but hardly the only one - on a Wisconsin team that won its conference and was one of 10 teams to earn a BCS bid.
Lockett was a key player - but hardly the only one - on a Marquette team that won its conference and was one of 8 teams to advance to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

Depends on how big the county is I suppose. LA County, population 10 million. Orange County, population 3 million. They can have a sports hall of fame. Then again, if a small county of 100K wants to have a hall of fame for civic pride, to each their own.

Just a little inside info here. Apparently Iowa State thought he was going to be signing with them this week. They had been on him for a very long time. They liked him much better than Koenig. UW thought they had time and played it too cool for school because his parents liked UW. Not worried about MU because they don't get get Richie Davis/Playground kids. MU liked him, but then Buzz went to every one of his games a few weeks ago. Exact words, "Buzz came in a swooped him up." Bottom line: Buzz is a closer.

him. He still have 2 high school seasons to play, after watching the film, he has nice size for a soph, in 2 years he might be physically bigger than BK, who knows. For sure, 3 seasons from
now, who knows how good he will be. This commitment is nice but it is more important to sign some size next year.

As did this guy....don't tell the badger fans though since they believe it is an outrage to compare anyone(especially an MU pledge) to Koenig.....lol

The article talks about how Buzz attended many of Noskowiak's games.
It made me think just how rewarding and frustrating recruiting has to be. These coaches put in so much time into following numerous high school players and it has to be a big rush when one calls to commit and such a bummer if you finish say second or third to another coach/team.

Exact words, "Buzz came in a swooped him up." Bottom line: Buzz is a closer.
sounds to me like the kid loved buzz/mu and when mu got serious on him he jumped ASAP...it has to help buzz to get and early/easy commit.

this kind of early commit from a top 100 guy is a big help in building a strong class. IIRC, MU wasn't Duane Wilson was leaning elsewhere when Burton committed, Duane started to come around and things snowballed from there.
