He said seton hall has a great tradition that's a good one. I think their tradition. Only beats out creighton in the new league.

So when can people stop using "New" Big East?
Good point. We need to start today. Our conference is called the "Big East". Looking forward, there should be no confusion.

The had some good teams in the late 80's. One of the best title games in 1989 versus Michigan in the old Kingdome.

Yes, they had a few nice runs. Still, their overall history is pretty minimal, with only 9 NCAA Tournament appearances...the least of the new Big East teams. The closest are Butler with 12 appearances, Providence with 15, and Creighton and DePaul with 18 appearances each. The rest of the teams have 23 appearances or more.
I don't fault SHU's AD for touting their history - that's part of his job - but the reality is that they have quite a ways to go....

exactly my point without all the explanation. They were good for a heartbeat and disappeared again. Even Depaul has been good throughout different decades.

I've often wondered this myself. Hopefully once the season starts and people get used to seeing Cuse in the ACC, UCONN in the AAC, and the rest of us using the same name, same logo.

It started in April 2007. By 2011 all products had it removed.
