Good they can start out decently strong, and while they'll probably have a tough 2nd and 3rd year, hopefully they'll be able to recruit off of their first year and last two in the MVC to step up.

Great news for us, we have one scholie remaining for this year, we are being considered by Eli Carter right now, that would definitely help us as well...

Good news for Blue as McDermott probably would have been drafted ahead of him.

He's not considering MU according to this:

I'm pretty sure he's a Creighton fan

You are correct. I propose a new bylaw: When people say "we" or "us" on this board it must be in reference to MU!

No offense but pretty sure there is a Creighton board where Jet can say "we" for the Jays.

I heard it all week at the Double Tree on 72nd St.

Now MU has almost no chance of beating Creighton in Omaha next season. Not sure how that's good news.

I hope we have almost no chance the same way we had almost no chance to win at Pitt and almost no chance to beat Miami in the NCAAs.

Because of one player? You have no idea what kind of team we'll have at that point, or what kind of team Creighton will be at that point. That's a silly statement--though I'll fight to the death for you to say it.

I would rather play a Top 20 team and take my chances than play a crappy team and have an easier win. Creighton would still be hard to beat at home either way, might as well try to make it a huge win for our resume.

I suppose I'm still depressed over Vander's decision to leave early and I'm expecting the worst. So is Yahoo Sports.

EARLY-ENTRY DEADLINE LOSERS:

1. Marquette: Just when Marquette seemed to be on the verge of a preseason top 10 ranking, the Golden Eagles suffered an unexpected loss. Vander Blue, Marquette's leading scorer last season, announced he will forgo his final year of college eligibility and enter the NBA draft, a surprising decision since he is unlikely to be a first-round pick and needed another year in school to improve his outside shot. Had Blue returned, he could have been the centerpiece of maybe the most talented Marquette team since the days of Dwyane Wade. The Golden Eagles will still have a deep and experienced frontcourt, but now they'll need their heralded recruiting class to contribute immediately in the backcourt to help make up for Blue's absence.

This couldn't be further from the truth. I'm from Omaha and watch the Jays when I'm home on breaks, and there's no reason we shouldn't comfortably handle Creighton in Omaha next year. Doug is a great player, but even with him, Creighton will definitely struggle in the Big East.
