Title: 2015 Charles Matthews
Post by: Jay Bee on April 21, 2013, 01:59:40 PM
Tweets that he's been offered by MU (and uw-madison) today...

Watched him for a weekend at USA Basketball last October. Big fan. From October's write-up on the camp (http://latenighthoops.com/recruiting-notes-usa-basketball-mini-camp-for-2015-2016-classes-oct12/#.UXQ2Q7Wkp5c):

Charles Matthews (IL/6'4"170/2015) – Matthews is 6'4" and a long combo guard who looked great scoring off the dribble. Worked with the point guards at USA basketball mini-camp and has the potential to be a dangerous point guard. May wind up as a wing, but if he becomes a good defender and continues developing his lead guard skills, he could be spectacular. Lots of possibilities for Matthews.

Taking a visit to MU per Evan Daniels. Visited UW already.  Other visits will be Kentucky,  Kansas,  Michigan State and Memphis

My take here is that if he is visiting Kansas we sould not have high hopes of signing him.

Are any of those visits officals?
Kid is a beast. Him and Brunson are the studs of that Chicago class.

I'm almost certain you have to be an incoming senior to take official visits, but I could be wrong.

Yes.

No. You & MUCrew are wrong on that.

However, Matthews isn't far enough along yet for officials. Give him til New Year's Day (2014) & he'll be eligible.

I would not be surprised that Mathews comes to the opening night event.

January 1 of junior year = officials are allowed.
