McKay thrives on lofty expectations
Written by: Mark Strotman
You don’t need to remind Jameel McKay that the No. 32 has an almost-sacred aura surrounding it in the Marquette basketball community. God I love PT. Nice job guys.
I love the major separation between MU and the Badgers
I love lamp.
I love "not taking the backseat to nobody". Nice.......
He has some big shoes to fill following Jae #32.
IMO he will be major impact player from day one. I love Steve Taylor, but he might have his work cut out to kid this kid off the court. He and Duanne Wilson are the keys to having a great season next year. Bot will be counted on big time and sounds like they ready for the job.
I am not expecting much from Mckay next season but I think he will be huge for MU the year after next. In my opinion he is best suited to play the 4 spot, unfortunately I am not sure he has the beef to be as effective as Taylor, Wilson or Gardner this upcoming season.
MU's four best returning players have the 4 and 5 spots locked down. The 3 spot is open and I am sure Wilson will see some time there as well as the four but I also see Johnson and Burton competing for time at 3 spot with Burton also at the 4 (I think he is the most under appreciated recruit in this class).

I think Taylor & McKay can coexist on the court. No reason they can't split minutes at the 4 while playing along side each other at the 3/4 for spurts like Davante and Chris at the 4/5.
