Loved this quote:
"A great thing about Buzz is that he's not afraid to play anybody. That's who he is. It's great to be able to pick up the phone and say, absolutely we'll play at your place, and then you're going to play at our place. Not all coaches are like that. But Buzz isn't afraid of anybody."
I focused on that line as well - great quote about Buzz. Maybe the "Domer out to destroy Marquette" has some respect for Buzz?

"We're in the middle of the weeds of that right now. Our intention is to sponsor men's and women's lacrosse under the Big East banner," Williams said. "That means we will invite in associate members in the form including and excluding the AAC."
sorry if it is a dumb question, but what is the AAC?
It's the new name for neo-Conference USA
AAC = the old Big East remnants moving forward.

The same cannot be said for at least one of our former conference members. Kittens.
"That means we will invite in associate members in the form including and excluding the AAC."
This sentence made me smile for two reasons:
1. The BEAST is the one that will continue to have lacrosse as a conference sport (as opposed to the AAC)
2. The BEAST can choose which members of the AAC it wants to allow to play with them. Any guesses as to who's in and who's outside looking in?

You must be talking about Mike Deane.
I know KO and TC had us playing Kansas, Duke, Illinois, Ohio State, Indiana, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Xavier, Tennessee, Wake Forest, St. John's (prior to conference), Arizona, Notre Dame (prior to conference), Villanova (prior to conference), South Carolina, Oklahoma State, etc

my guess is UConn and Cinci, which both have women's teams only. they will then need only one more to get the AQ, which might end up being a closer school like Detroit. would be great if Johns Hopkins joined on both the men's and women's side though.

Is this kind of like a box of Christmas lights reading "For indoor or outdoor use only."

UConn and Cincy getting screwed always makes my heart filled with a certain indescribable... happiness.

Take out the exempt events/tournaments and that list could fit on one hand.

The whole point of signing up for those tournaments and events is that you have a great chance to play those kinds of teams. That's why you do it.

KO certainly scheduled aggressively as your list demonstrates. Besides Winthrop and North Dakota State what other powerhouses did TC schedule?

Our rivalry with Cincinnati goes back decades. Some of the best games in Marquette history were against them. And our series against UConn rates as nothing less than stellar. Both were exceptional adversaries.
Your gloating is misplaced if not bizarre. It takes a little man to think that way.
