Maybe I'm not the right guy but the whole Ring Culture is pretty hideous. Whatever happened to Quiet Dignity? Who designs these things anyway? Liberace??

I don't see a WNBA championship ring in that mix, Keefe.  Women are just as athletic as men, you know.

Obviously this picture of the IU banner is cropped to leave off the part about winning a Big 10 Championship while losing at home accompanied by a picture of players cutting down the nets after their loss.

Back in the day she was a babe with headlights but the years haven't been kind. I read she has an OBE; kinda cheapens it in my opinion. Not sure what she really did besides a few Bond movies.

Random but I kind of wish players only got one ring and got it after they come back. That way you get honored with the highest ring and it would be more of a college wrap up then having four rings like blue. It would be blues college ring and show off the final four but also elite 8 and sweet 16 teams.

Fixed it for you.  Also, I like this idea.   Maybe present to the seniors on senior night, and guys who leave early when they come back.  Only problem is what do you do for guys that transfer a la Ferguson and Thomas. I think they both deserve a ring for their contributions.

I had a dream last night.  Jane Seymour was at my party wearing for her wedding band the Marquette's National Championship ring. We talked basketball for hours. She even wanted my number so we could go to game.  Then my wife wakes me up for snoring too loud. She asked me what I was smiling about. I told her it was basketball.

Only on this board, can we go from bling, to championship rings, to IU,  to Jane Seymour, to MILFs (Mother I like to ....)   to divorce, to Diane Lane then to dreams!

Why are players getting rings for NOT winning a championship of some sort. Regular season champion= RING! Sweet 16 or Elite 8= HELL TO THE NO, better luck next year! That's why everybody's so soft these days.  No Champion, NO RING!

Then again, why does everyone get excited then about a Sweet 16 trip or Elite 8?  Should we, as fans, also say championship or bust?

I don't think this is a trophy for everyone argument people like to make, though I understand the slippery slope of getting there.

People are soft these days for a lot of reasons....we have a lot of delicate flowers setting policies in schools, government, business, etc.

I also don't like the idea of rings for Sweet 16s or Elite 8s.  FF, maybe, because at least you won your region.  Plus, people actually care a lot about making the final four.

Anyway, just went on Yahoo! and found

Ms. Seymour and her ex-husband in the Open Hearts Foundation Gala with special guests the Detroit Shock (or whoever won the WNBA tournament last year [this year?])

This is why I don't like when you do this....it reeks of Karma....Juan transferring today.  I know you were trying to be funny (Abell is not selling his rings), but kids transfer at an alarming rate in college hoops.  MU is no different than IU or many other schools...sadly.  I wish the kids would stay, but they don't.

Well, could we at least agree that getting to the Elite 8 should result in less basketballs thrown at their heads in practice next season?

Then let's just call it an unfortunate coincidence.  You take a veiled shot at a kid leaving another program, and within 2 days one of ours leaves.
