Who came up with the "translations" for swearing in posts? And where did the definitions come from? Have they always been around and I haven't noticed or are they new?

Some companies will block any web traffic and/or e-mail based on it containing any of the seven words. Thus the translation.

The mods can set up swear word replacements in the backend of this software (Simple Machines Forum). So the mods have "translated" the swear words. This has nothing to do with company filters.
We prefer people behave well, but we throw random, and sometimes funny word replacements if they occasionally step across the line.
I've been really surprised by the number of unlawful carnal knowledges (yes I typed that) showing up of late. This doesn't often seem to be a very vulgar site, yet people seem to be dropping that left and right the past week. Maybe I'm becoming an old fuddy-duddy, but I'm glad it's censored. And if that's a reason people are getting a break from the site, can't say I'd argue with the mods on that.

Yeah, I recently changed that from the frack replacement, and have been surprised how much it's been showing up. Either I had been ignoring frack, or people have gotten more vulgar (likely the former).
Yes, I'll be that fucking crap head that will complain and call people "pretty boy" to their faces.
Sheesh, I am naive. I swear I thought everyone was well behaved and used common conventions for alternatives to bad words Had no idea of the auto-translate. :-[

We're not that creative. But we are doable.
