Garrett averaged 5.4 ppg and 4.3 rpg as a sophomore. He was decent for St John's and still had upside, especially with rumors of Harrison headed to the NBA. Whether Garrett transfers or not is still up in the air as he could play in the Cincinnati Reds farm system. Tough loss for a team hoping to make a big impact in the NBE next year.

Strange for him to move on with the program poised to take a move up next year. In particular their frontline will be much improved next year.
That's a shame. I am really psyched for the Johnnies to become relevant again. A good Big East Team in the NY market is crucial. Was this guy poised to make a big contribution?

Sounds like he's staying with the Reds and just switching basketball schools.

Ranked the 19th best prospect in the Reds' organization. A hard-throwing lefty could stick around the majors for a long, long time.
Per MLB.com:
College basketball fans might know Garrett as a freshman forward at St. John's University, but Garrett turned heads with a number of pre-Draft workouts on the mound, and the Reds rolled the dice by signing him to an over-slot, albeit backloaded, deal. He's extremely athletic with a fastball that has already touched the mid-90s. He's shown flashes of a changeup and a curve as well. He's a project, obviously, but one that could pay off in the long run, with one scout comparing him to Aroldis Chapman in terms of upside and athleticism.
Where's the Lavin video?
I first though it said Mrs. Garrett was transfering.
Wondering if they will bring Tutti with her
