I have to say big east. With U of L, MU, G-town at the top...I'd put those 3 teams against any other 3 in any other conf. Pac-10 is also quite loaded, and I believe the Big-10 could surprise some people this year

PC should be really good this year as well, and I'd expect UConn to take a big step up as well. Nova and WVA -- wild cards.....The Mountaineers return so many players from a good team but Huggins system is mismatched to the talent at hand.
UCLA will be better than any team in the Big East -- but gimme the Big East's depth over the Pac-10.
I agree I really like the prospects of Prov. and Nova. I think those could both be solid top 25 teams. Providence fell off the face of the earth last year, which concerns me chemistry and toughness wise. But the y are a year old and get Hanke back who will only make them better. Mcdermott is an absolute std. Nova is loaded with talent. Uconn with also be much improved. I agree with WVU too, Huggins best bet would be to continue with Beilein's tactics until he gets his kids in, but I cannot see that happening. Up and down year is my guess.
Why no PAC 10 in your poll?
who voted for CUSA? ???

yeah the big-10 is going to surprise a lot of people. Those people being the ones who think they won't be horrible.
What teams do you think are going to be good?

Penn State and Northwestern will be vying for the title.
methinks this board may be a bit biased when it comes to conferences ;D

USC is very good, too. Stanford's got the Lopez brothers, and didn't Oregon go to the Elite 8 last year?
This is off-the-subject, but it's a shame Memphis isn't in the Big East. I'd love to see CDR and Derrick Rose live.

What teams do you think are going to be good?
Michigan State is loaded... they return everyone important from last year as well as 3 stud freshman

State should win the Big Ten this year with Indiana contending. Purdue will be interesting and Ohio State. I see Whisky middle of the pack, 5th or 6th. I'd say the Big Ten will be about the 5th best conference this year in the RPI rankings.
whatever, there will be two big ten teams that will be way overratted because they pound the other big ten teams that will all suck. Then there will be a few that get bids because they are in that conference and got lucky against MSU or something.
And if northwestern makes it to the elite 8 i'll punch myself in the face. They might not be in the top 64.

while I agree with you.. I must insist, up front, that we get a youtube video post of this if they do make it. I am not sure I have ever seen ANYONE punch themselves in the face and it sounds quite entertaining.. no offense but northwestern might have picked up a few fans today :D
in the big 10 msu and iu should be the favorites. purdue is a very young team but the conference is pretty weak and i could see them as high as 3rd in the big 10. top 5 isnt a stretch. wisconsin has a lot of talent, despite their big losses they will be contenders.
the big east is by far the best conference in college basketball. its not even close.

Hmmm, you really need to work on your youtube skilz, there's already a bunch on there. (p.s. - wow people are idiots)

While they lost Tucker, everyone seems to forget the great recruiting job Bobo has done..., I think (if there's any chemistry at all) U-dub will be very tough this year. In fact, I see the top half of the the 11 being very tough. And, as a Northwestern fan, (going to bball games there is almost like the old MU/DePaul games at Alumni hall) I'd love to see the "punch myself in the face" routine.

or just honor their preseason commitments. :D
Indiana will be solid when you consider the time Kelvin Sampson spends hand-writing letters.

Gotta love the "the Big 10 is so overrated" comments that always surface as the basketball season nears. I hate to make such broad statements, but the Big 10 has several very good defensive coaches, headlined by Weber, Izzo and Ryan. The offense may look ugly at times and the recruiting might not hold to other conferences, but most of those teams play very well on the defensive end and it (usually) pays off come March.
(Damn could I use Pomeroy's team statistics right about now...)
pac-10 is loaded and youthful

"the Big 10 is so overrated" comments were correct last year as they are this year. They won't have more than one team make it through the first weekend of MM.

yeah well hopefully we're not the ones that let them through this time.... *sigh*
