All year long I felt like this was an Elite 8 team. I avoided posting that all week because I didn't want to be right. Feel completely gutted right now. As many of you probably have gathered this is my favorite team I've watched at Marquette and I feel gut-punched to see them go out.
Trying to prepare myself to go downtown and cheer this team when they get home tonight. If any team deserves it, it's this one. Fighting back tears, though I know the tears will win. Go Marquette.
Damn.....That says it all!
Brew, I kinda feel the same way about this team. The guys worked hard and were really fun to watch this year. They accomplished more than most of us thought they would and they believed in themselves.
Hats off to Junior, who came back and played so hard after that nasty spill.
Only solace -- what's coming in is a mind-blower. We're back for keeps!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys for keeping our Warrior dream alive.
We hit the wall, they played us like we played Miami on D,made us real uncomfortable. We had no energy,at no time in the second half did I think we had a chance. My wife said, some of those guys look like pros.
This team overachieved. They far exceeded expectations.
All that being said, Final Four opportunities do not come around often, and it was a shame to play one of their worst games of the season at this point. Sigh.
I want to say thanks to the seniors. Trent was a huge glue guy this year with his hustle and timely plays. I hope he enjoyed his year at mu. Junior I read today was the only remaining person of his recruiting class. Says a lot about the young man and what he was willing to do. Hopefully chris returns next year but whether he does or doesnt this team is going to be one to wreckon with. Thanks for an awesome ride warriors.
I kind of feel the opposite. I expected to lose and hoped like hell I'd be wrong. But I'm not disappointed. I feel like this team absolutely maximized its capabilities. It's always sad to know you'll never see this lineup play again...ever. That's always tough to swallow. But I'm in a good place with the way this season went.
Keep your head up Brew!

+1 exactly how I felt before and after the game.
This one hurts. Gutted is a good word.
They way exceeded my expectations but I'm selfish and wanted one more win....
I just want to get the clang of the rim sound out of my head after that game.
We over-achieved. And had a great, fun ride. BE Title .. Elite 8. All without an NBA player on our team.
Our luck ran out today in an .. ugly way. 39 points is a really depressing way to end the year. And it'll live on for a long time, setting a record in an E8 game. Most watched game .. hurts the perception of the season and its accomplishments.
Don't mind losing. Really mind losing this way.
Tomorrow will be better, though.
I don't think people will remember it in that negative a light. Humans have a pretty crappy long term memory, will come in handy when the elite eight graphic is on the screen next year. It'll be another recruiting feather in Buzz's cap this off season.

Brew,
Hats off to you. You called this....early on. An incredible season. Period.
I don't feel bad about today. It is simply a stepping stone to a final four very, very soon. A feat only a few teams accomplish.
Only thing I worry about....messing with happy.
Would love to have a bottle of red white and blue with you on my next trip to Milwaukee.
Go Warriors!!!!!!

We could have won this game but we had to make shots and we did not. It is not a huge deal. I will be honest, if we would have played Indiana we win. Cant wait for Next year!!!
Special season. I knew that for me personally, it was going to be extremely hard to take a loss from here on out. This started as a bridge year (let's just get to next year) to probably my favorite MU season ever. These guys took us farther than I ever thought they could.

Not sure if you're serious...you can't see Blue or Jamil in the NBA? I think we had at least 2, if not 4-5 NBA players on this year's team.

I'm going negative on that one but your optimism proved right this year so who knows I have to believe it now.

I think he probably meant this year.
Let me say first.....
More than I ever expected.....Thank you guys.....Great run.....
That being said.....
This team was so frustrating because they have the ability to beat anyone or lose to anyone on any given day.....
Flip a coin.....
Sorry, I don't see Jamil nor Vander .. nor anyone on our roster playing in the NBA.
We'll see how Steve Taylor progresses.

I would absolutely take that action. I think both will make NBA rosters. Both look more promising as prospects than JFB or Crowder did at this point of their careers.
In some ways this was the best way to lose if you aren't going to win. The remaining members of the team coming back will be bitter and hungry. It's a bad taste in the mouth and the only way to drop this feeling is to keep up the grind and work hard in the off-season.
Brew- tip of the hat to you for seeing what most of us didn't.

Add an extra cheer fo me Brew.
As I sat watching in the cold confines of the Verizon Center, I thought "if Marquette loses, the loss will be a close one. No way it will be an embarrassment."
Damn.
p.s. three trips to see MU play at the Verizon Center in three straight seasons. Three disappointments. I'm done with that place.
p.p.s. Syracuse fans are, mostly, not worthy of our respect. That's as nice as I can express it on an Easter weekend.

When you recruit and play trash, trash fans latch on.
