Title: DUCK FUKE!! FIRE UP MARQUETTE!!
Post by: LastWarrior on November 21, 2006, 07:32:56 AM
Big time game for the squad tonight.  We win this game, the national press will follow big time.  Imagine heading into the Wisconsin game undefeated with big wins over Texas Tech & Duke.  Watch out for the hype!!

I'm so jealous of Rocky & Spiral being in K.C. for the game tonight!!

I think in terms of national exposure, yes, this is the biggest game since we beat wake forest in the middle of our conference schedule the final four year.  the home and home against arizona was also pretty big, but seriously, this is duke, the official university of the worldwide leader.  we beat them, and dukie V and the rest of the espn dirtbags (gottlieb, franschilla and katz) will worship us for the rest of the year.

Not only will it get us some props from the evil ESPN empire, the nattering nabobs of negativism toward our SOS will finally fut the shuck up.      I haven't been this pumped to watch a game since Kentucky '03.

I can't wait for this game either -- less than 12 hours to go!

Is this the first game between two ranked opponents this season?  I think it is.

Let's be fair to Franschilla... he did say Crean was the best X's & O's coach in college basketball on ESPN2 last night.  He also said MU runs more set plays than any other team in college.  They did follow that up with the fact that Fran stood up in Tom's wedding and has known him since he was 19.

I'll give ESPN some credit thought... going back to the tourney last year we've gotten A LOT of love from Jay Bilas & Fran.

of the three, i have the least problem with franschilla, but i agree, let's be fair.  both his st. john's program and his new mexico program were constantly followed by allegations of recruiting violations.

and i do like jay bilas...he is the most fair and balanced of any espn analyst...even though he did go to duke.

well ESPN can't help that a prerequisite to earn a job there is you must have attended an ACC school, more importantly Duke or UNC, I mean honestly, everyone is from the ACC that is in the ESPN "family".

Katz was a rodent so your theory is a little flawed.  I have always been amazed by the basketball coverage at the worldwide leader and how biased it is.  Dukie V, Gottlieb, Katz, and  Digger are just rampant shills.  IMHO Bilas is the best analyst and the least like to give into bias.

Granted I might be biased cause we met him in Mitchell airport after the Cinncy game in 2003 and he sat and talked with us for a good half hour.  Really nice guy.

i'm looking forward to that GT-Memphis matchup.  should be a pretty high-scoring affair and a nice little warm-up to the main event.  interested to see javaris crittenton and thaddeus young on GT...
