Title: [Paint Touches] The adjective I use to describe Marquette
Post by: strotty on March 30, 2013, 02:38:17 AM
(Sorry if the RSS feed picks this up, but I wasn't sure if it'd do it this late at night)

I had a bit of a sentimental moment in writing this, but all the talk of "Who is Marquette" got to me, so I decided on the one word I would use to describe this team.

Al used to brag that his teams were the most disciplined teams on the court in the country. His players seldom did something other than what was asked from them. If they did they often found bench time. Buzz's teams also play within the system and guys know their roles.

Another great article!

I think you guys should take over ESPN, give everyone a spelling and grammar test, then a logic 101 exam, and fire everyone who fails. Doing this would allow you start with a clean slate.

As a footnote, Coach McGuire in his famous press conference soliloquy said what most people (read press) didn't understand was that his Marquette teams were the "most disciplined on the planet."

Absolutely loved it. Was awesome that you finally were able to put your finger on what makes this team special. Especially when everyone has to play a specific role, everyone buying in is probably the most important thing for success
