Leaving Illinois with 2 years of eligibility. We were on his final 3, I believe.
-
Didn't get much PT with the Illini. Where to?

Guessing had he chose MU he'd also be transferring. I would guess low/mid-major to get a chance at more PT is the destination.
-
Likely downgrading, possibly to the MVC or DePaul. A couple other Illinois players leaving as well.
-
Jeeze. We really really wanted him at 1 point. I remember seeing him at Madness. It is interesting to me that we have missed on some bigs recently (Desrosiers, Shaw, Aaric Murray when transferring) and none of them have been particularly good as of yet. We have Gardner on the other hand who was rated low and has been a great player for us.
-
One of the blogs had, Shaw was not even interested in being at an MU game in one of his final visits before announcing illini.
-
Those blogs are all over the place. The more I follow some of the people who write for them the more I see how easy it is to proclaim yourself a recruiting expert.
-
Take a pass
-
Marquette told Shaw no.
-
We won't be needing Shaw, having Steve, Jr.

Wonder how Aaric Murray is feeling about transferring from LaSalle these days as he watched the tourney from home in Morgantown?

Langford also said to be leaving the Illini.
His little brother (2016) is phenomenal.
Anyway, Shaw - could see him going to a nice mid major and being a beast on the boards.
-
He has a sweet birthday.
-
He should go to DePaul.
Good homecoming for him. DePaul needs the Chitown inroads.

My friend starts for Illinois (Egwu) and in high school Shaw was always the better Illinois recruit (until he got there). He was the #1 player in the NATION in 8th grade and he really never got better. Hope he goes to DePaul.

Ive heard that Abdel Nader may be transferring to Depaul too.

He is going to Bradley.

I am the smartest man alive!

As Joaquin Andujar liked to say: There is one word in America that says it all, and that one word is "Youneverknow."
It's why I can't get caught up with how great this recruit and that recruit are supposed to be, especially if I've rarely (or never) seen them. How many 4-stars have to suck and how many 2-stars have to excel before everybody recognizes ratings services for what they are?

He'll fit in well at DePaul considering he can't make a basket.

He is a pure scorer. Hes better than Melvin. Lets not forget he almost came here.
-
He's a pure scorer? He went 4/9....for the season.

What are you talking about he was their leading scorer an incredible in high school. He just made a bad decision in the college he chose.

Wait a second...a guy who averaged 11 points and 5 boards while shooting 34% against MAC competition is better than a guy who was the BE Rookie of the Year and puts up 17 and 7 while shooting 47.% from the floor in the BE?

Jake Thomas was an "incredible scorer" in high school too. It's irrelevant.
-
Trust me on this. He got thrown into a really bad situation at Northern. He is much better than the numbers indicate.

Trust you on this? The only thing you've said is that Nader is better than Cleveland Melvin and that's a laughable notion based on their productivity.
No one could possibly argue that NIU's program is not a train wreck. I'll give you that one.
-
Its more based on the fact that my dad coached him for 4 years in High school. Maybe its a little bias on my part but ive seen him play enough to where I know he can be a better player than Melvin. Back to the topic though, Depaul needs a spark from someone so they can be relevant in the Big East.

This is just an example of another highly recruited big man, who choose to go elsewhere over MU and didn't meet expectations. You wonder if things would have been different had he'd attended MU, given the lack of depth in our front court AT THE TIME he was recruited here.
