Hate to say it, but Cuse is going to pack the Verizon like Carrier Dome South on Saturday. Anyone who has been to MSG for a BET semis or finals can attest.
I'm sure they'll be a decent MU turnout, but need all the support we can get . I'm guessing 70% Cuse, 15% MU, and 15% Georgetown/randoms (who'll root for MU). Hope I'm wrong.
Wish I could, made it to MSG and Lexington, but I'm on the wrong coast this weekend.
Who's going to DC and on the fence?
All 5 of the Commission's will be making the trip.
I was lucky enough to road trip to Lexington last Saturday and I decided to bite the bullet and buy flights to DC this morning. I'm a young alum with no kids or spouse and I rationalized that the next time this happens it may not be as easy to just hop on a flight and go :)
Having a really hard time deciding. I can get a free ticket there from MKE (yay frequent flier miles), but can't convince any of my friends to shell out the $400+ for the plane ticket.

Well done. Win or lose, you'll never regret it. Even after seeing that sh1tshow in Newark and Phoenix, I'm glad I did.

If you really want to go, do something stupid and offer to pay $100 of their ticket or chip in more for hotel. Sounds ridiculous, but you'll find out if they really want to go. You can also make it contingent on a MU win... If MU loses, you pay the extra $100. You'll be a great friend and make the trip.

I'd find wealthier friends.
are you kidding me? after hearing about Mike Hunt's subway experience, I ain't never going to DC!

next year? ;)
Get in the car, swing through Bloomington on the way for some cheap tickets, and get to Dcwith plenty of time to spare.
If you are a frequent flyer, there's a ton of cheap milage options to get out from Chicago tomorrow. I want to pull the trigger, just don't want to pay Stub Hub. Anyone find IU fans dumping tickets? I saw the guy in the trading post section, and Ebay and Stub Hub are still pricey.
I gotta believe tickets will be beyond plentiful outside tomorrow. You gotta assume most IU fans are still in town doing the whole DC thing.
expedia has flights + room for like $470. fly out tomorrow in time for the game, fly home in time for easter dinner

That might be conservative for Cuse...

I know. I'm really trying to be optimistic.

Regarding IU seats, I have no doubt that most were likely sold to others already at the stadium by the time they walk out of the stadium.
I follow these things pretty closely and I wouldn't necessarily count on tons of cheap success OUTSIDE the stadium due to Cuse. There will be a LOT of last minute Cuse fans with the same idea, so the prices may hold near stubhub prices and you'll have to deal with the pain in the a$$ of scalping outside. Cuse fans do it every year at MSG and they are used to doing it that way. For a Saturday game, they'll be out in full force.
That being said, the inventory on stubhub/craigslist is still pretty high and prices should cool off some. I've been following this and here's what I would guess based off stubhub pricing/inventory and craigslist ads:
Fyi, prices mentioned are stubhub and assuming you buy a pair.
1) Prices are holding firm right now for lowers, but will probably cool off a bit. I expect lowers to still go for about $175-200 each (behind the hoop).
2) Uppers will be much more reasonable. Pairs are for $120 each on stubhub at the moment, and I wouldn't expect them to dip too much lower. If you are just looking to get in the door, this is your best bet. There's a price-point where people will go to the game if it's cheap enough... I expect that to be about $90 per ticket.
3) Tickets in the lower center court sections are still very solid and will likely hold at $275-300 per seat.
4) There are a lot of people on craigs offering tickets at above market prices... they'll drop prices. Start badgering them now for a deal. Buyer beware for flakey sellers and scammers since it's craigslist.
5) Overall, prices will drop some, but there are a ton of Cuse fans holding out. They'll start buying tomorrow, and you'll have a better idea of prices in the morning.
Rules of thumb...
1) If you need a single ticket, the prices will be cheaper.
2) If you need more than 2 tickets, prices will likely be higher.
3) If you need more than 4 tickets, you're options will be much more limited, but probably will find something if you pay a premium.
Word of caution...
I read that there are very good looking fake tickets to the DC NCAA's. Make sure the hologram looks very shiny. Also match up the backs of tickets with real or used tickets to make sure they are the same. Sometimes fakes have similar wording on the back, but in a different style.
Last word...
The face value on this session are $100 for uppers and $120 for lowers. If people can't afford face value, they should probably stay home. I wouldn't anticipate tickets going for less than face. Maybe worst-in-the-house uppers will go for $80.
Hope this helps.
Honestly, catch a 7 am flight out there, hit the game, come back that night. No hotel. I would do it if I didn't have family Easter plans Saturday night...
Not sure if that's an option from Milwaukee, but it definitely is from Chicago
Making the trip. We purchased decent priced game tickets at primesport.com last night.
$180 each for 100s section.

I ran into 2 different guys postgame yesterday at a bar that bought fakes. so yeah, keep a look out.
My wife and I are here in Washington. Did it almost as a whim, convincing the wife with "If not now, when? When we are 80?" Bought Thursday tix on eBay for 300/pair for uppers at center court. High up but nice vantage point. We were sitting among lots of rowdy Miami fans and it was fun to see them completely silenced.
We should have gone downstairs right after the game to try to buy Saturday tix from disappointed Canes fans but we didn't. We wanted to watch Cuse beat Crean. After that game, we stood among the scalpers outside and competed for Saturday tix. Just when we thought we wouldn't get any and we'd have to come up with Plan B, a Hoosiers fan heard us say, "Marquette fans, not scalpers, looking for 2." He came over and said, "I like Marquette. I have two upstairs." We dickered a little and ended up with the pair for $120. Here's hoping they aren't fakes, but he was coming out of the arena and he pulled them out of his NCAA envelope.
Anyway, thrilled to have been part of this already. And hoping to be even more thrilled at about 7 tonight!!!
