Early indications are that Crean still hasn't figured out a zone.

Yep.
I'd be perfectly fine if this game has 30 overtimes.
'Cuse making it a physical ugly game. I4 bigs look soft!!

I'd be even happier if there was a fight and <insert winning star here> was ineligible to play Saturday.
Obviously, I can't stand Crean so I'm biased. But why in the hell would he have John Harbaugh talk to the kids before this Sweet 16 game? Doesn't it reek of letting the kids know unnecessarily that its a "big game?" I'm not a fan of having guys speak to teams before games anyway...practice, yes...but this seems odd. And Rachel Nichols went on to report it was about the importance of momentum. Obviously, Syracuse came right out and seized momentum.
"Hey guys...guess who's here? My brother in law!"
It's going to sound like a broken record coming from me, but I just don't think Crean has it in him to be a great coach. He can build a program and do things that seem right (and oftentimes odd) but at the end of the day, if there no book telling him when to have guest speakers, or when it's appropriate to cut down a net, etc., he's not going to get it rit. He's just off.
Stick a fork in IU!
We are having a rematch with Cuse!
I am very much enjoying Indiana getting schooled.

Yes, but I would have enjoyed it *much* more on Saturday.
We already beat Cuse this year. I want IU and to knock off the #1 seed in the region.
I screwed up. I got it wrong on I4 this year.
Had them getting bounced in the field of 32. They made it to the Sweet 16. D*mn it. Should have known better.
(PS-actually there's a ton of time and they can shoot the ball well sometimes... but most of their guys can't against good teams, so... we'll see. Need them out tonight though.)
I recently interviewed a graduate of IU, he was convinced Tom Crean was an awesome in-game coach. I tried to reason with him. Ah, youth.

At least they'll get a ring and a trophy case
If I4 looses what will the excuses be? ;D
Someone tell Dwight Schrute that his team is playing tonight.
Maybe I4 just needs a big ol' man-smooch at the half!

I was really impressed when they showed the FGCU pregame speech last weekend. The coach let one of his players speak to the team and assume the leadership role. Found it really refreshing.

He gave a good speech...looked a little nervous at the camera being 10 feet away though.
Crean still has no clue how to attack a zone!

i don't believe he'll ever have a talent advantage to the same degree that he does this year. you have to give him credit for getting the talent, but i think you're right about the rest. he's not close to being an izzo, williams, coach k, etc. type coach, and ultimately indiana will require that. i don't see him getting kentucky type talent on a yearly basis either. he better do something this year.

You nailed it ... and I knew it after year 2 at IU.
D Wade made this man a lot of money. Syracuse is playing like poo.... and STILL WINNING BY double digits.
IU was just not prepared for this zone....

You may be 50% correct... the other guy looks a lot like a top 10 2014 kid from Minnesota that will be playing for Wisconsin Playground Elite this spring/summer.........
I really don't get how you can get paid millions of dollars a year and not have any conception of how to defeat a zone defense. My high school coach taught me for about 15k...
Won't feel bad about not facing Crean if he can't get there

RIGHT ON..... Crean NEEDS this game BAD. If IU loses go the IU boards... and you will see an EPIC meltdown. THIS team is loaded. and Crean can't get it out of them.
Vic is gone. If Zeller leaves?..... IU will be a sub .500 team next season. and then the heat will really be on.
And I can't wait... I want him gone. Sick of his tanned, shaved eyebrow, Tom Arnold looking, goofy part in the middle hair doo arse........
heheh..
And I forgot he is also an arrogant SOB......
I believe Cuse wins.
That said, Orangemen had a 13 point lead in the Garden two weeks ago against Ville looking as comfortable as a cat sleeping on a human's face in bed. And blew it. The difference? One has Pitino. One has Crean.
To quote my 15 year old son (his age when TC left) seeing how upset I was, "...he is not a great coach Marquette will be alright they'll get a better coach..." Little did I know my son would be totally correct!
LaSalle/Wichita St has been a brutal game to watch, terrible basketball being played.
I go back to NCAA Tournament loss to Stanford. Crean was coaching against their assistant coach and lost. After that, I was happy he left. He is a good coach and a decent recruiter, but not a great coach. When I tell this to an IU or other B1G fans, they give me a blank look, and then say, "but you're upset he left." ::)
Marquette looks like far and away the best team to be playing in DC tonight. Hopefully that's the case on Saturday too.

Could your high school coach recruit top tier talent and manage a basketball program that is essentially a multi-million dollar corporation? There's a lot more to college coaching than being a good x's and o's guy.
with the program?
Zeller is so weak with the ball.
IU is in some trouble.
Where would he go?
Zeller's absolutely killing them. Any other coach would have put Whatford in the middle on offense right now. Crean's been badly outcoached tonight. In other news, the sun rose again this morning...

I trust he was thanked politely for having come in then you sh1t canned his cv.
Outside of Olidepo, IU is SOFT.
If they lose, I'd like to see him have his players cut down the nets to go in the Sweet 16 trophy case, which sits next to the five cases holding national championship trophies.

Notice the Bondsman has yet to show his face tonight. A Marquette victory combined with IU getting humiliated...Oh the shame...

The horror...the horror...
Love seeing IU go down, but would rather see us be the ones doing the thumping. Crean has nothing on Boeheim though, so I would rather face Crean.
That was a whippin' by Cuse on IU. Farrell, Hulls, Zeller, those guys had zero chance, boys against men.
The bad thing is Cuse is better than IU and could give MU a bitch of a game
Too bad.
Buzz vs. Crean had potential to be Gruden vs. the Raiders in the Super Bowl where his team knew everything that was coming and Oakland had no chance.

I'm right here Keefe. Marquette won, couldn't be happier. As I've said 1000's of times here, MU #1, IU is #2, KU #3. Nothing has changed.
If someone told me before the game only one of your alma maters will win, who do you want...it's MU.
Now, if you want, I'll give you my address you can come by personally...no need to hide your love obsession with me. I'll just give you the address. ;)
