Title: Miami thoughts
Post by: tower912 on March 28, 2013, 08:57:57 PM
Best defense of the year.   MU cut off the head and the body died.    Great ball-screen defense.   A few too many offensive rebounds given up.   Depth matters.   No Todd or Jake?    Ferguson on the floor for a few seconds?     Efficient offense.     Honestly, the most complete game MU has played all year.   So sweet to be elite.

This team continues to play like this and they will be "Banner Worthy"

Confidence!!

Was watching the golf tournament monday at the barber's and I commented to him that you can tell Tiger has absolute confidence again just by watching him walk down the fairway.

Vander and Jamil look unbelievably confident right now.

I don't remember Davante jumping out to double beyond the three pt line nearly as much as tonight. We played the perfect game!

First time I can remember Davante dunking from under the basket.

Quite possibly the best we've played all year. Took a legit top-10 team out behind the woodshed. Play like that and there's no one we can't beat.

There is a reason MU was 14-4 in league.    And you, my firefighting brother, called it more than anyone else.

25 points and 7 rebounds from the center position.

And only one turnover.

Did you see the look on Jamil's face after he hit the 3 half way through the second half.  INTENSE.

- Miami .. their defense was terrible.

.. Refs were also terrible, both ways.  Could have called 20 more fouls, easily.

This.

Lot of confidence in letting Gardner hedge up top and it seemed Buzz picked up on deficiencies in Larkin's game not to be worried about being exploited by that.

Larkin was shook 92 seconds into the game and never looked a true threat.

I'm happy they didn't.  Much more enjoyable to watch a game that has a flow a not a whistle every minute.

It was more than just hedging. When Gardner's man set a pick he would typically move to the post with the other big rotating outside. Buzz had Gardner stay with Larkin, and our other big would switch to the screener when he went to the post. This allowed Gardner to stay out on Larkin longer because his man was standing outside waiting for the kick out from penetration, which wasn't going to come because Larkin couldn't penetrate. This completely blew their mind, and they never recovered.

Amazing game plan, amazing execution, amazing game!

The refs were very consistent throughout. That's all a player can ask for.

Help me out, I don't know a whole lot about basketball but SOTG almost has to be Buzz right? The players played with a hell of a fire but he made an unbelievable game plan right? Miami looked like they had no idea what they were doing sometimes. They were chucking early and looked scared. We were motivated and phenomenally prepared to beat them. I couldn't be happier right now that Buzz is our coach

Love seeing that fire out of Jamil.  He's been a big X factor at the end of this season.  Really becoming that stud we knew he could be.
