Doug Gottleib, please eat sh*t. No chance and a big Miami win, Ha......
You should be fired for your racial comment to start the primetime national coverage of the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. CBS executives should have your head.
-
I was gonna tell him simply to go unnatural carnal knowledge himself
-
Choke on it buddy
-
Suck it Dougie!!! Please do NOT pick us to win now.
-
Missed it - what was the comment?
-
Everyone but Gumbel and Anthony on that panel thought Miami would roll us. Well Hurricane Buzz just dismantled Miami! ;D
-
Thankfully Chuck, the only intelligent one on the panel, acknowledged us at halftime. Every time teams shoot poorly against us its bad luck, never us "forcing them left" and good coaching.
-
Missed it - what was the comment?
10 seconds in the broadcast he says "I am here only for diversity, the only white guy on the panel" The others looked at him as he was nuts and couldn't even comment. Primetime with huge audience, CBS must love it that he left ESPN to say that.
-
So I assume when they re-seed, this means we're 8th.
-
Worst announcer/talking head in the biz. Period!
-
Was actually a solid color commentator last week in Salt Lake. They should really re-assign him permanently since he's a complete tool as a studio analyst.
-
Missed it - what was the comment?

And it was *very* awkward.

What a schmuck

Wow what he wasted or what?

Are you?

His comment was inappropriate and I wouldn't blame CBS if they reprimanded him.
-
Gottleib is a wise ass prick who looks like an ass on TV.
-
Are you?
Yea, opening second bottle of liquor to celebrate. But of course I'm not about to go on national TV to be a complete a$$!
-
Suck it Dougie!!! Please do NOT pick us to win now.
He won't. According to him Miami was just "out of whack" and lazy.
-
Go steal another credit card, Dougie.
-
Already issued an apology:

PC or not PC, it was very, very akwardly delivered. It fell flat, whether you found it offensive or just plain lame.
He is a unnatural carnal knowledgewad.
-
Anthony's response is great: "Ok..."
-
(http://www.freewebs.com/tuckerstales/doug%20gottlieb.png)
What he said!!
Eat a Big D Dougie

Exactly. He should not have apologized.
-

He was trying to be funny. The joke was on him. People need to lighten up on racial sensitivity. Just because the joke is about one's race doesn't mean its racist. This will blow over.
-
Anthony's response is great: "Ok..."
That's because Anthony's too stupid to figure out if Dougie was insulting him.
Seriously, that is a horrible collection of analysts. Gottleib's the only one who knows what he's talking about, but he is a complete tool who never owns his mistakes. At least Barkley is funny once in a while. The others are stealing pay checks.
-
Gottlieb tweeted me back and was gracious when I called him out for saying Miami would win by a large margin:
@GottliebShow: I know right “@MiShKe5: @GottliebShow Right about the wide margin of victory, but wrong about #Marquette. Go MU.”
-

Actually, Anthony is a pretty smart man. Been running businesses since he was attending UNLV.
-
Sir Charles just said on TBS for all you losers on Gottlieb case on twitter to get a life. We all up here don't care what Doug said.
-
Gottleib "Cuse feels like they gave away a game in Milwaukee", what a tool x 5. Where did he get this gem from?
-
He seemed pretty stunned that MU won. It was a great narrative for the media that MU had no chance. They were wrong again.
-

Anthony is anything but stupid. Smarter than any of the guys on Duke that he played against twice in final fours, actually.

From his white guy perspective.
-
I wasn't offended as a white guy, I was offended as a comedian.
That joke sucked.
He should apologize for not being funny.

New seeding out tonight. we were 12th. :o

Awkwardly delivered, fell flat, just plain lame? Sounds like a Chicos "joke" to me!

Exactly. There was simply no reason to say it. I mean seriously, why would you joke about race and think its going to go well?
-

Actually, Chicos would have said that he was the only "traditional" guy on the set...and then would have been shocked when people thought he was referring to skin color.
-
Didn't know about the diversity comment, frankly don't care.
What I did hear, and did care about, was him saying "Miami wins this going away." For that, Mr. Gottleib, you may choke on it.
-

Here is what people dont realize. The people that are most uncomfortable with Race are White people that are never around black people. I work with Black students and Latino Students every day and and I often use my whiteness as a joke. I also feel comfortable to joke around about stereotypes with my students as it addresses the racial issue that otherwise is bubbling underneath the surface. For instants yesterday in class a black student asked me "why black dudes always winning on that dancing with the stars show" I said "Cause white dude aint got no rythym"
Class laughs, Ice is broken, Lesson goes smoothly.

This is all fine and good.
But you simply don't make a racial joke on a national television broadcast and expect it to go well. It never does.

So are you teaching Ebonics?
-
No
Remedial Science and Special Education

This is great comedy. If it isn't, the bolded reminds me again why our society is failing.

I speak Jive, myself.

Little Dougie's comment wasn't funny and neither was yours.
Are you currently enrolled in an ESL course while you are teaching?
-
Yes a typo is why society is failing ::). And I don't care if you don't think it was funny it is meant as an icebreaker

Uh oh, someone's onion thin skin is in danger!

Putting your "typo" aside, I find it interesting that you and Mr. Gottleib choose to use your "whiteness" as a joke. Serious question - Do your Black and Latino students frequently use their blackness and Latino-ness as jokes? As a white man can you poke fun at the Blacks and Latinos or is that the "racial issue that otherwise is bubbling underneath"? Are they allowed to use your "whiteness" as a joke?

Yes they joke about their own racial stereotypes alot. That is what is so awesome about working Racine. It is a mixed community where people are actually comfortable joking about their own racial stereotypes. Teachers with good relationships with their students often talk about And acknowledge those stereotypes with the class. Race is not an easy topic to address and to be honest Gottlieb who works with and has been around black people his whole life thought it would be all fun.
