Nobody believes in Marquette….really
Written by: Andrei Greska
Let's be honest for a minute here. There is no concept more abused and improperly applied than an athlete's "Nobody Believes in Us" mantra. Whether an underdog or 15-point favorite, teams will always find some slight to lack of respect ... Continue reading → (http://painttouches.com/2013/03/28/nobody-believes-in-them-really/)

Yup. Get it done tonight, and then turn and lift our kilts in the direction of the pundits.
I absolutely love it. Go ahead and doubt this team. In the words of the student section, "I believe..."
Buzz can truly play up the underdog thing for this game. Lets go Warriors...!
Why would an outsider believe in Marquette? The only time they've probably seen us all year is when we needed a miracle comeback against Davidson to escape the first round. If they managed to see the second game, they saw us barely squeak out a win vs. Butler. Now we're going up against powerhouse (this year) Miami.
Heck, I barely believe in Marquette after reading that... ;D
Yahoo don't believe....have us #12 of 16 left with Miam at 5....BUT who cares, WAR!!!
Win, Advance, Repeat...Go Marquette!! Only guys who's belief matters are lacing up the AL jerseys tonight, I think they BELIEVE
Eamonn Brennan has us beating Miami, fwiw.
Eammon went to Indiana...

What does last year's GTown game have to do with anything?
In the tournament, anything can happen. See VCU, George Mason, Butler, NC State..... Forget the pundits and let's go kick some arse...
I'm assuming you're including Paint Touches among the non-believers.
History says 3-point shooting will end Marquette early
"But at some point a lack of 3-point shooting will be Marquette's downfall. It's inevitable. And if history has anything to say about it, that downfall may come this week."[/i]

Non-believers, or pointing out facts of a 10-year trend? Big difference.
Others have pointed it out, but very little respect for Syracuse too. Did anyone notice that Indiana was tied with Temple with just over a minute to go and IU has been pretty shaky over the past month? Nobody seems to care when they lose. I would love the chance to play them for a FF trip (I know, first thing's first...).

Now you want to defend your post? Where were you last week when I asked all sorts of questions about it?
The issue I had with it was its superficiality. While you examined the raw data relative to three-point shooting, you failed to address overall offensive efficiency and MU's outlier-ish status as a very efficient team despite its poor three-point shooting. It would have been nice to see if your comparables' overall efficiency mirrored that of their three-point shooting, or if there were any exceptions like MU. Because, if it was just the former, then the comparisons are essentially invalid.
