I see the myth that keeps giving is still alive, the one that D-Wade himself debunked it. I guess it all comes down to the definition of the word recruiting. When MU sends out 200 letters to kids, that now means we are actively recruiting. ::)
"After Deane went 14-15 in 1998-1999, Crean took over and was lucky to inherit a program in the midst of recruiting Wade."
Hope Buzz can get us there....it would be a remarkable accomplishment with this team.
"Once called the Hilltoppers, Marquette thrived as the Golden Eagles under Al McGuire during the late 60's and 1970's. "
Oops
All-in-all, it is a very poorly written piece.
one glaring mistake in that article. they mentioned that we were the golden eagles under mcguire.
Clearly this guy hasn't been on MUScoop. I think quite a few people would be against making Crean a distant memory, if only because they love hating him as the pantomime villain so much. 4 wins, on the other hand...

Crean a distant memory?
Not if Scoop has anything to say about it.

The very first paragraph refers to the 2003 final four team and "Dwayne" Wade. The author really knows how to use google.
Not sure about a distant memory, but they are two wins away from shoving it straight up his ass. There is an awful lot of basketball between now and then though.

Crean a distant memory?
Um, who is this Crean they keep mentioning?
Also, Buzz was promoted after Crean left... not hired.
It's a minor detail, but Buzz was already at MU when he got the job.
Crean who?

Crean who?
Some creepy butler, I think.

In my eyes, Buzz has already made Crean a distant memory.
Crean was just a fart in the wind.
Come on, getting to the Final Four was awesome. And the way to do it, blowing out the 2nd ranked team in the country (Kentucky). I can live with that memory even with Tom Crean in it.

I always thought Crean was more like a fart in an elevator.

Who was #1?
I was going to ask "And why weren't the they #1 overall?" and then I remembered this year's tournament.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just found it. Arizona.

ESPN, you rock.
Yep zona, and the talking heads were "outraged" that the two sets of wildcats would play before the final.
