How they can't accept that Marquette doing well is good for the entire league is beyond me. If GT were still alive I'd be cheering for them. Same goes for 'Nova, Butler (had they not been seeded in our bracket), and St. Louis, and why I'll be cheering for Creighton today.
I wonder if these are the handful of fans that actually show up for their games when they are not playing Syracuse.
Take with a grain of salt. I would b pissed too if them.
If I was the fan of a team that played boring basketball and couldn't get out of the first weekend for several consecutive years, as well as one that embarrassed itself by acting like spoiled brats at the end of their loss to a 15 seed that didn't exist 20 years ago, I, too, would be bitter and lashing out.
That is one guy. I bet there would be people on here saying the same thing about GTown if things were reversed
Congratulations, Georgetown. You're now the Chicago Bears of the C7.

This is awesome! How many more fans of other schools can we piss off in the next two weeks? I'd be fine with 67 other schools!!
I'm glad to have the Hoyas with us the in "New" Big East, but they don't seem to get it... 5 (count em FIVE) last tourneys for Gtown ended in elimination by a double digit seed... their NCAA tourney performance has been an embarrassment to the Big East, and now they are putting us down??
Two words for you Hoya fans... Rollie Massimino. Get over yourselves.
Rather funny actually. They would be talking about their own teams if they were still in it instead of being jealous of us.

Kind of sounds like MU a few years back...couldn't get out of the first weekend. God, I'm glad we have Buzz

To me Marquette is a total joke. Ive never seen a team catch so many breaks in one season (soft BE schedule, facing teams with injured/suspended players, and a Davidson team that choked one away)
They suck. Their sweet 16's are flukes. They lack a killer instinct and will never be taken seriously
Ooohhhh .. delicious tears from the fans of the team who is sitting at home right now.
Georgetown is a lot like Notre Dame -- extremely arrogant, feel entitled, a superiority complex. Very happy they both lost in the first round. Whinny losers.

Your right.... and I'm sure there a lot of people in Dayton who think we pick our nose to show off our ring. None of us like to be out looking in.

Seriously. Why does one pissed off poster equal all "Georgetown Fans?"
What if there was a post on another board that said, "Marquette Fans are Overly Sensitive Reactionaries?"

I really shouldn't bother with them. Believe me, I don't over there talking trash either. I just hate when people lie.
BTW, Bronson's dad is chiming in about Bronson starting next year and one of their more respectable members is tempering expectations. Fun stuff.

Link it up! Love reading Bronson's pops stuff that you post. At least Tim Maymon wasn't outed on message boards.
Oh boy they sure are salty. They say our sweet 16's are nothing, yet they haven't been past the second round since 2007. They just lost to a 15 seed as a 2 seed. LOL.
I wouldnt base all Georgetown fans on a few posters. The people over at Casual Hoya love us.
I agree. I'm a Georgetown fan. Sorry they're out. JTIII seems like a classy guy. Glad they're in the NBE.
Now as to ND...

I'd love to rip a few of those Hoya fans a new a-hole, but for the most part their fans are classy and intelligent. Our fans would be pretty bitter too if we lost to double-digit seeds four years in a row.
Thanks for the link - I very rarely LOL, but a couple of 'em got me.
I'm with Brew - I've been rooting for the likes of Georgetown, Nova and SLU and against money-grabbing tradition-destroying Aholes like Syracuse, Pitt and ND.
Who cares what those losers have to say. GTown blew a game they should have won. You want to call us cute? Keep doing it from the sidelines, chumps.
Yep, pretty pathetic and bitter, and really unjustified.
But then, out of the wilderness, came this post from one of the GT fans:
"Given our current state of affairs, I'm having a lot of trouble looking down at their program right now."
Nice!
You all know how it is when we lose, all of the crazies come out of the woodwork. Additionally, all of the rational posters take a break so as to stay away from the nuts.
There is no reason to judge a fan base by the nuts posting after a tough loss.

Yup, I try my hardest to avoid going online after a loss. In part to "stay away from the nuts" but also to avoid rushing to despair and becoming one of the nuts to myself.

Does that mean that everyone who posts here right after a loss is crazy?
Georgetown: The San Jose Sharks of the NCAA.

Looking at FGCU's game today .. those guys are legit. They might give Florida a run for it.
Props to the MU fan that went on there to call that guy out but that GTown fan proved he is really crazy. Maybe he got turned down for prom by a Marquette girl or something.

This actually might be very close to the truth. Here is the MU hater's response.

Grow up. Did you really request a password just to respond to my post? Why are Marquette fans so insecure? You've had a nice little run here--you can hang lots of Sweet Sixteen banners to go next to your Great Alaskan Shootout championship banners. Enjoy it! Who cares what we think? It is your ceiling, at least until Buzz takes the Texas job.
I hate Marquette for personal reasons because I grew up in Milwaukee and know 8 bajillion fans who let me hear it everytime Marquette flushes a toilet at an NCAA second round/third round host site because I'm the only Hoya they know besides the fellow currently running your university. I hate Marquette more than Syracuse. If you had been around this site for two seconds before MUScoop sent you here today (so typical! Even in victory your board is insecurely freaking out about what Gtown fans think) you would have known this.
Nobody else on this board has ever spoken to a Marquette graduate, and they don't care to hate you even though your coach acted like a disgraceful, bigger-than-the-game clown during his last trip to Verizon Center, so relax. I dont speak for anyone but myself. At the same time, Marquette fans fail to understand that around here we arent giddy about the new league, we view it as the best of several bad choices. You guys may be thrilled to still be able to say you are in a league with Georgetown and Villanova, but unfortunately being with Marquette and DePaul just doesn't have the same impact in this direction. We will miss Cuse and UConn and the rest.
Try to get some context next time before you interrupt your Sweet Sixteen party to yell at someone on a message board at a school you have nothing to do with. -----------
Oh man, who let the secret out that MU scoop secretly organizes and directs posters to response to all MU posts around the world? I did not.
Good god, what a damaged human being that is. Time to move on.
Just read that thread, that poster is their version of our own NateDogg/KenoshaWarrior.

Wow. Big Dog has to be one of the most... unhinged... posters out there. I'm sure he's reading this as we speak, so I've prepared a little something for him:
Hey, Big Dog!
I understand that you're sad right now. Maybe even a little embarrassed. Perhaps that's why you've got a former Purdue player as your nickname/avatar. You wish GU was as good as Purdue with Big Dog. I get it. I really do. We all have a desire to reach back and relive those glory years. The ones where the cheap beer tasted a little crisper (and was a LOT cheaper). Where the co-eds gave you the time of day rather than calling you the "creepy old man in the corner." And most importantly, where your team could actually make it out of the Round of 64 more than once every half decade.
It's perfectly okay to feel all of these things. It is important to acknowledge your feelings so you can properly mourn your season. 67 teams will mourn their seasons this year. Your period of mourning just happens to be sooner, rather than later. Perhaps you should go check in with Wisconsin Badger (http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=193&f=2565) fans. Between their football and basketball teams, the 2013 teams have had rough times in the BCS and NCAA postseasons. I believe our coach would use the term "peed down their legs" to describe the collective level of failure. Give each other hugs. Do trust falls for each other. Whatever it takes. Just don't point out that Bucky's basketball coach was Jim Carrey's stunt double in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. They take that awfully hard over there.
I know, I know... the reborn Big East isn't in your delusion of grandeur that you held so dear. You wanted to get into the ACC. You wanted a pony as a kid. But don't worry - we're bringing the tourney shares to the new Big East. We got your back.
Perhaps we'll even give JT3 dancing lessons someday.
I'm sure he feels *infinitely* better after that. I certainly do. ;D

FGCU looked fantastic those two games. After they beat Georgetown I went back and looked at their schedule. How on Earth did that team lose 10 games to that schedule? They did not win the regular season in the Atlantic Sun, and while their resume includes a win at Miami, it also includes 2 losses to Lipscomb(!?!) and losses to Maine, Stetson, East Tennessee State, and Mercer.
Amazing that a team with that resume could look so good against Georgetown and San Diego State. I have a feeling that Florida is really going to roll them, but this year you never know.

But Florida could "Clemson" all over themselves. That Florida team has looked better than anyone in the country, and they've looked down right bad at times too.
GTown should be spiteful and bitter. MU was rewarded for their season by playing a terrible Davidson team that had no business in the tournament, while the powers that be decided to screw over GTown yet again by giving them a 15 seed to play in the first round. Its clearly unfair that GTown has to play good teams in the tournament.

Hmm, this is OT, but they (UW) certainly are bullish on their incoming recruiting class. Does anyone have an opinion on the strength of their class?

While this is rightfully in teal, several posters over there have actually been arguing that G'Town's repeated peeing of the bed is because the NCAA has been purposefully screwing them with seedings. According to some there, each and every one of those double digits seeds they've lost to have been maliciously underseeded with the intent of screwing the Hoyas.

You have to remember what their recruiting classes usually look like.
According to ESPN, MU is 10th and UW-Madison is 28th

Traditional?
Traditional? Did you watch FGCU? How about that Henderson kid from Ole Miss (BTW, Nick William with a cameo) FGCU played with speed, athleticism, creativity, aggressiveness with half of their team being 'traditional'. Throw in Plumlee, Kelly, McDermott, Withey, Zeller, Sheehey, Craft, Oleynik, Pangos, and, IMO, we can put to rest the myth of the traditional.
Does traditional necessarily mean white? To me it means someone who plays with fundamentals (e.g., use of glass, hook shots, PGs posting up, etc) and doesn't rely on athleticism and speed; it need not necessarily tied to race. Maybe my use/definition is out of sync with the consensus
I'm with you, but, as with other things on this board, it became shorthand for caucasian thanks to CBB.
I kinda like the Georgetown fan's reference to MU's "favorable" BE schedule. In the 8 years we've been in the BE, MU has finished higher 3 times, GTown has finished higher 3 times, and we've tied 2 times.
I guess we have a more favorable schedule quite often, huh? ::)
