Says that Buzz outcoached Brad. Talks about small adjustments Buzz made late in the game to squelch Butler, in particular Clarke, when he ordered a double team on him as soon as he crossed mid-court, causing the air-ball.
IMO, he missed the biggest one. Putting Gardner on the in-bounder, while putting the more mobile, better jumping Jamil on Smith on that last play was brilliant. I was thinking Otule, but if MU had gotten the ball, CO would have been fouled. So use DG to block out the sun and let Jamil get right up on Smith. Good stuff.
"Down the hall, Marquette was meeting the media at the podium. Williams was fiery and feisty, using the moment to refuse to answer questions about his tactics, and to distance himself from being a tactician in any event, and somehow spinning off from that issue to bemoan the state of the media and the posers -- "they're garbage," Williams said -- who use Twitter to build an audience and earn undeserved "swag." It was beautiful because it was Buzz."
Does anyone have a link to audio/video of this post game press conference?
