9/15; 3/4 from 3; 8/8 FT. 29 pts. 4 steals in 34 minutes.
I imagine his draft stock is rising just about now.
Shoosh you
Eh.
His improvement has been tremendous. Played fantastic defense tonight, was finishing with both hands, hit some huge threes. Just an awesome player and with another year of development, would be 1st team all big east and sniff all-american lists.
Who here is still willing to say that Vander has been a disappointment?
Chad ford tweeted about vander..."intriguing prospect". Not bad for a kid (I read elsewhere a couple years back) that was the 3rd best player in his HS conference.

Did that dork 46-47captain chime in tonight???
3 years at Marquette. 3 sweet 16's.
UW still wouldn't trade Gasser for Blue.
I look forward to seeing him back for his senior season.

He'll be at MU next year.
Both Vander and Jamil looked like legit prospects tonight.

Coincidence? I think not. :)

Maybe rising for the '14 draft.
#dumbtournamentcliche
He has hit big shot after big shot this tourney. That 3 to tie the game at 69 was a grown man shot.

Told Mrs. Avenue Commons during the game that Vander made a lot of money this week. Showed great leadership and clutch play. He keeps it up for another game or two and with his size I could see him floating his name in the draft.
He has grown so much as a player over the past two months. It's been awesome to watch. Good for Vander.
Vander and Jamil next year.... awesome.
So funny, I wonder where those damn Vander haters are now. I laugh at them and feel sorry for them that they criticized a college player so much.
Obviously, I'm happy for Marquette and, by extension, for the rest of us out here who live and die with this team.
But I think I'm happiest for Vander. After all he did to win us a share of the BE title and to beat Davidson and to put us in position to win tonight, I hated that he would have been the goat for that bad pass right near the end. He deserved better ... and he got it! We all did!
If the tournament ended tonight Vander would be the MOP.
Nough said.

I honestly think he may not come back.
This is a completely irrational gut feeling, and I REALLY hope it's wrong.

Unbelievable to think what that duo will be capable of. Yes, they're in the Sweet 16 and there's no reason to look ahead, but...

+1
I can't recall a player for us that's been more clutch than Blue. The shots he has hit over the last few weeks have been absolutely monstrous. He clearly put in a TON of work this offseason. Happy to see it pay off for him at the right time.

I'm not sure this is completely irrational. If Vander rolls off a couple more 20+ point games and puts us in the FF then I would advise him to at least put his name in. This years draft class is historically weak and NBA GMs have been known to fall for tournament darlings. See Joe Alexander.
Jerel flirted with it after TC was fired. And his best game came in a loss to Stanford. No reason for Vander not to look.
I have a feeling that he will look, but I don't think he's good enough to get guaranteed money, so I would guess that he comes back.
If he can keep improving his jumper next season, he could be a great college player and a potential 1st rd pick.
It all depends on what happens next week. If he has monster games against Miami and Indiana, he's gone, and andI'd be absolutely thrilled for him and our program. As of now, the market is still open and his stock is on the rise but until I hear the closing bell, I'll abstain from any speculation. Sidenote: so f'ing proud of Buzz and this team. Can't wait toto see what next week has in store for us.
