Title: Izzo A Giant
Post by: keefe on March 23, 2013, 04:09:05 PM
Just saw Izzo interviewed by Rachel Nichols. Standing next to them was 6' 10" Adreian Payne. what struck me was how short Izzo is. Rachel Nichols is taller than him. Maybe that's why Izzo hired Crean...so that he had someone around shorter than he.

Rachel didn't hit on him, did she? That's right, only interested in non-traditional Duke guards, hey?

Not Izzo but she was looking at Payne with a fierce longing. He is 6' 10"...she could actually remain standing...

Former gymnast so flexibility shouldn't be an issue.

Why did Nichols leave ESPN where she actually did investigative reporting, to CBS to do sideline interviews?

She actually works for Turner and her main job is working for CNN, along with sideline stuff for things like this and baseball.

Izzo is tiny. He flew to Minneapolis after the game - made it to watch a couple of State tourney finals, including games with Tyus Jones and Reid Travis (both of whom won). Dude spends a lot of time in the Twin Cities.

Izzo was a frequent ferry traveler when Crean was here.

Talked to him in the lobby of the Madison hotel a couple years back. Said Buzz was going to be the best thing to happen for Marquette.
