Drive the lane, crash the boards, get then in foul trouble,,,,,we win.

"I'm going to have to stay out of foul trouble. It's tough with them," Smith said of Marquette. "They're just so big and good around the basket."
Something we went never heard for years under a previous coach. Refreshing.
The game in Maui was a really good game. Competitive, exciting, tightly contested. Clarke hit a prayer, but so what? It was a November game between two good teams that would get better and it came down to the buzzer. MU lost but it was almost irrelevant. If he had missed the shot, nothing would have changed except the records. It was just a good game.

While we are losing some long standing rivalries I anticipate our rivalry with Butler will develop into something special. I think the Clark Hail Mary and today's game will help solidify that relationship.
MU can score against them, but if I am not mistaken, there forward killed us, Jamil is really important today.

You're correct. That dude destroyed MU.
As Buzz mentioned, that is the last game that Jamil started. He was amped up and made dumb early fouls which affected his ability to defend in the second half when their forwards drove with impunity. So the reason Juan has started at the 4 all year is because Jamil played so bad as a starter in the Butler game. Look up the box score. Not pretty. Jamil also mentioned that his memory of the end of the game involves the rebound from Junior's missed FT missing his fingers by an inch.

The box score from the scoop wiki.
Juan, Davante, and Jamil all with 4 fouls in not that many minutes. Lockett fouled out. That is one of the reasons that Butler was able to score so easily down the stretch.
Lost in the hype over the last "lucky" shot is the fact we literally could not stop their offensive execution the last 11or 12 possessions. We earned the opportunity to get beaten by a last shot. I would think our guys have a much better handle on defense than they did in November. Should be a great game and these two games this year should be the birth of a great rivalry.
I think Steve is going to be REAL key today.
If he can grab some key O Boards, occupy Smith offensively and contain him defensively, run the court, and hit some shots, especially threes, man...
Butler can be beat.
