Them beating ND would cap off a great day with UW losing as well..
Agreed!!!
I especially hope that Little Leprechaun Connaugton gets dunked on!

+1...a big green one!
What makes Notre Dame games more unwatchable, the uniforms or their annoying cheerleader booing into his megaphone whenever the opponent is on offense?

Everything they do is equally annoying.
Irish look awful... like they didn't even do a scouting report.
Why do you want the big east to look bad? IF we won the conference don't you want our conference to play well, and make us look better?

You think there is someone out there who is holding out judgement on us not based on our performance in the tournament but on how teams we played perform against teams they haven't?
If that person even exists who cares what he thinks?

Probably because ND sucks and they're not in MUs conference anymore.
Agreed. With Pitt, Nova, GTown, and Cincy plus ND .. one and done .. the Big East is looking .. over-rated.

Def the unis. But I agree, the vuvuzellas are annoying

yikes if ND loses just 3 left standing... All upsets except Villanova, too
This is not only the Big Dance, but the Final Dance with those smug leprechauns as conference mates. As far as I'm concerned, the divorce is final. Never liked them; never will.
Mind you I still want us to play them though - a little passion in a game is a good thing,

Truthfully, the BEast is overrated, but I don't care at this point, not like it's going to affect our future performance. The Big East struggles as a conference most NCAAs, yet it doesn't affect the next year's seeding. I don't understand why they always overrate the Big East, but they do.
Cooley looks beat already. :D

In the past, I pulled for all the Big East teams unless we would have to play them. But now, my definition of "Big East team that we aren't playing" in the tournament includes MU,
GT,
VU,
Butler, and Creighton.

Barkley and the studio guys were taling pregame about what a "beast Cooley is down low".
Obviously they havent seen ND play in 7 weeks.
As an aside....the US soccer game on espn is insane. Blizzard conditions in Denver. World cup qualifying match.
Iowa St. Is awfully impressive...IMO they're better than us

That's amazing!
Iowa St. up by 22 with 6 minutes remaining.
Didn't see the game. Cooley have the runs again?
I wonder if someone sat in his head, motivating him to six points.
Anybody see #4 for the Irish refuse to shake the Istate player's hand at the end? What grade A douchery.

Yep, and they took Kansas to OT at least once this year (I believe twice, I'll have to check that). They are legit, just some tough close losses that could've made a difference in seeding.
What a fun last 31 hours it's been, starting with the final 1:40 of the Marquette Miracle, on through to Bucky's exit, all the incredible upsets and now Notre Dame humiliating themselves.
I love the first two days of the NCAA tournament, and I loved them this year even more!!!!!
One thing I couldn't help noticing while watching this game was how rarely Connaughton even touched the ball.
Sure enough, I just looked at the box score and he took only 2 shots, both treys, while making one.
If a team wants to eliminate a 3-point shooter, no matter how well that player shoots, even if that player is as dead-eye as Steve Novak, a team can do it. Just don't leave him open. It's not as if he's going to blaze past a defender for a dunk.
I'm still trying to figure out how we let him burn us each of the last two years. And by let him, I mean let him. There was just no reason for it.
But hey, in the end, it's all good. He gets to watch us play tomorrow night ... and hopefully next week, too.
Good. Just goes to show that when you wear ugly-ass uniforms, you lose. ND and Cincy proved my point.
Cooley must not dislike ISU enough. Otherwise, he would have carried them to victory.

Kinda brings a tear to ny eye.
Eff ND. Adios nose pickers.
I can't take credit for this line from the Chicago Tribune. :D
"After some initial fits, Iowa State (23-11) bothered Notre Dame all night long, in the way one would be bothered by repeated bludgeoning with an aluminum bat."
