Whose week would be complete with a Badger loss today!!!!

Mine would, Marquette fans than have no pressure going into the Butler game.

Why would there be no pressure?

The season is not measured on if we make it further than Wisconsin. I have a ton of desire to make it to a 3rd straight sweet 16 as well as knocking out one of our future Big East mates as kind of a "Welcome to the Big East" gift.

I could care less whether Wisconsin wins or not.

I don't anymore and not originally from Wisconsin.

For the on day in December I hate their guts because it is a fun in state rivalry. Is it nice to go further than them? Yes. If we don't does it make our season any less? No, we already beat them head to head.

As I've mentioned on here before their support against Kentucky in the elite 8 in 2003 made that place into a homecourt for Marquette.

Answers will vary.  For some, self included, there is no interest either way in WI basketball outside of during the game once a year when they play MU.  It's a big deal for some locals and in-staters.  For others, it isn't.  This is similar in my experiece to other geographies with a similar set up.  And, some locals/in-staters will root for both teams and some will despise the other.  Some will be indifferent. All of the above is very common there and elsewhere too.

Respectfully, I've never understood this theory.  Message boards are a miniscule fraction of a fan base.  (No offense intended for the board) There are good, bad, indifferent fans everywhere, message boards included.

Badger hoops idiocy goes way beyond their message boards.  They all get the talking points.

I understand why those not living in Wisconsin can be benevolent, but if you live around Badger fans, it is really tough to stomach.

Not only that but its just UW has too many fans that makes it seem like they are all idiots. We have enough moron fans, but since we are a smaller school and private (aka don't represent the whole state) we can overcome that usually.

I normally root for UW on non-MU games since I live in Wisconsin and it helps our RPI. Although, it is extremely fun watching the Henderson show. It's like rooting for Tebow to win because we all know the Broncos won despite Tebow but yet ESPN will pump it out being Henderson.

There goes my first Elite Eight pick.  I tend to minimize my risk by taking teams I dislike to go further, so if they go far my bracket is at least right, if they bomb out I can still be happy at the result.

Wow! Was that fun or what!

Watching Bruesewitz shake his head at a foul call -- looking more than ever like a total clown with that ridiculous hair -- was almost as entertaining as hearing the crowd moan when it was obvious Bucky was going down.

So much for the West being so bad Bucky could go to the Final Four. The West IS bad, but Bucky's only going back to Madtown.

Gloating isn't nice, but what the heck. Buckyland woulda been doing the same if our lads hadn't pulled out yesterday's game.

Now if only Iowa State can beat ND -- a distinct possibility, by the way -- it will have been a perfect "second round" of the tournament!

Rex Chapman.

Totally unapologetic about shooting from anywhere anytime.

As Kerr said on the broadcast, it takes a special kind of player to go 1-for-11 in the first half and keep firing, ultimately igniting his team to victory. And I'll add that it takes a certain kind of coach who would allow it.

He's a punk gunner. No more, no less. Been thousands of him in the game. Shot it terribly today overall but hit a big 3 and lay-in deep into the second half.

In the end, if you're not in the SEC he shouldn't affect you unless you're turned off by his checkered past. But even then you'd have to agree he is entertaining.

I had this one in my brackets.   Twice as happy.       When you only play one way and there are no other tools in the box, and things go astray, it ends poorly.       The weekend could not be off to a better start.

I loved this form a jsnline article previewing the Davidson game

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/goldeneagles/marquette-knows-davidsons-upset-potential-om98696-199285551.html

QuoteMarquette guard Vander Blue was a sophomore at Madison Memorial when Wisconsin played Davidson in the 2008 Sweet 16.

It happened so long ago in Blue's personal time frame that he thinks he was still a Badgers fan at the time.

Seller is the only player I would want MU to have

Yeah, I agree Brad Sellers was a good player.

Bo Ryan to Arkansas.  Barry has cooled on him.

Hosting a birthday party for my son this weekend... bunch of extended family coming in (most of whom are UW fans) and decided that a Badger-themed menu might help ease their pain:

Slow-cooked BBQ ribs
Boneless Chicken Wings (so nobody chokes) with celery and Vander dressing ("bleu" cheese)
Vanilla bean ice cream
Ginger snap cookies
A plate of doritos arranged in the shape of Bruezewitz's fro
And the coup de grace: A cheese tray... some jack, mostly brick.

(This isn't a joke... I will post pictures of the spread tomorrow.)

I couldn't help myself and went over to check out their boards.  A lot of people trashing their seniors and saying their incoming recruiting class will be an upgrade in talent over their current seniors.  I know they're not the most rational group, but what the heck are they talking about?  Koenig is good, but he'll spend a lot of time on the bench (behind the legendary Gasser).  And the other guys are 3-stars that probably won't play much.

Dekker will get more time, which will help them, but I don't see anyone else being able to step up to fill the void left by Berggren.

In buckyland, every recruit is the best ever because Bo signed him; Bo cooled on all the rest of them.

Next fall, it will be humorous to read the posts over there stating that Gasser is a better player than Blue.

Let's just say that it was awesome being in a packed BW3s full of red and watching the end of this clunker.

BTW, Bilas tweeted that UW hockey had a higher shooting % last night than the bball team did today---25.9%-hockey to 25.4%-bball.

Last night, Wisconsin hockey beat Minnesota State and shot a crazy good percentage of 25.9%

Bo Ryan's Badger hoops squad today shot 25.4% against Ole Miss.

Well they are good before they sign.   But when the talk about Bo being the greatest coach ever comes up everyone somehow downgrades their recruits just to say how awesome Bo is

If I could have Gtown still in it even if it meant UW was still in, Id take it.  I get more joy seeing a fellow BE member win than seeing UW lose.

I think it's more fun to talk about the future (and near future) BE teams like Creighton and St. Louis surviving and advancing.

When you serve food, demand folks need to implement the swing offense.  Eventually people will just leave hungry after staring at food just rotate through their hands without ever having a chance to eat it.

HAHA, well done! Maybe top it off with a big bottle of W(h)ine, then again probably not the best thing to expose the kids to.

Benny, how'd the party go?  Got photos?

So just in case you can't read the text:

1: Ginger Snap cookies in the back (I didn't intend for this to turn into a Bruesewitz pile-on, but evidently it turned out that way)
2: The "3-point" cheese tray... brick, jack, and brick
3: Country Red potato salad (seriously, this is what the container said at Sam's... I hate potato salad, but I couldn't resist)
4: "Boneless BBQ Wings (So Nobody Chokes)" - A last minute substitution for the ribs.
5: When you use the whole bag, it makes him look like Sideshow Bob... or a Lopez twin.  Your call.
