Good lord they are being cocky.
"Both teams looked worse than Butler and Bucknell did"
Wasn't the score of their game 17-14 at half?
Cannot wait for the Revenge Game on Saturday...
It will a sweet win to demolish Butler!
Butler isn't as good as years past. They finished fifth in the A10...but the A10 was much better than usual. However MU simply is going to have to shoot better to win. If they play like they have against ND or Davidson, then I think it is likely that we go home.
The only good thing about playing as terribly as we did during yesterday's first half (and arguably the second) is we can only go up.
That was the type game that can propel a team. Marquette will be ready - Survive and Advance.
Lets Butler bark all they want.

Exactly. And the shots MU missed yestarday were easy shots within 8 feet. Its one thing to miss contested jumpshots. But when they beat their man for a 6 or 8 foot driving shot, you need to make some of those. Just make the shots they should make and MU will be fine.
Also, there are times when Gardner has his man sealed and for whatever reason, the wings dont even look inside. Especially Anderson. They need to look inside as the first option.

That is there fan base. Think Indiana.
At least 2 wins after every loss.
Neither Butler nor Marquette played well yesterday, but I don't think either team is going to be shooting the lights out on Saturday either based on the first game between them. I'd say it's split fairly evenly as far as Butler fans that would have rather played Davidson vs. Marquette, but at the risk of getting called cocky or worse I'd rather Butler play Marquette. And that's not because I don't think you're the better team, have revenge on your minds or that there's not a good chance that you beat us (because like you said, this Butler team isn't as talented as the Hayward/Howard/Mack teams of a couple years ago). I like it because even though Butler won the game earlier in the year, Marquette's still supposed to win on Saturday, so Butler can go back into a role where it's much more comfortable as the underdog and hopefully just relax and play since they were wound up pretty tight for the first game yesterday.
A team that has had the level of tournament success that they have had recently against the kids of odds they've had is probably rightfully cocky.

Really? Where? Nothing on either of those links struck me as cocky.

Yeah, I guess I can hang my hat on that. Not that it really means anything, but still....
I think Bultler is pretty good, and may actually end up as a slight favorite n this one. Probably going to come down to turnovers and rebounding. The team that takes better care of the ball is probably going to win. That doesn't necessarily spell doom for MU though, as Butler tends to turn it over quite a bit as well.

How many wake up calls does this team need? If they haven't gotten their wake up call yet then they're never getting it.
On the other hand... how many wake up calls does this team get? That was the last one. Next time they play one of those games will be the last game of the season for MU.

I didn't see any of that either. Sounds like they are a little nervous. Some didn't want to see us. Didn't see them as cocky at all
If any bulldog fans are reading this, get ready. This will be a taste of what's to come as you prepare to enter a real conference next year. Just remember to bring some toilet paper... for your chest.

LOL
After watching Marquette, if I were a Butler fan, I would be confident as well. That's as bad as I've seen Marquette play (didn't see UWGB game). This will be another great game though, excited for it. We are 2.5 point favorites so you have to feel good about being in the sweet 16 for the 3rd straight year. Very impressive if they can achieve that.
I smell a new Big East rivalry starting. Doesn't take long to start.

Something tells me it's no longer going to be as uneventful wearing my Marquette hoodie in Broadripple as it was back in the mid 2000s.
Can't wait to see MU at Hinkle next year.

Yep, where the actual game was played and the movie was shot. Great place to watch a game.

They're not panicking like crazy like we were before the Davidson game. Thus, the Butler fans are extremely cocky relative to our fans.

I would rather sit outside Yats on College Ave with a plate of crawfish etoufee and an MU flag staked in the ground.
Hmmm, Yats. I hit the one on Mass Ave for lunch when I can.
