Title: The Committee
Post by: patso on March 21, 2013, 09:30:36 PM
The NCAA committee seems to always unfairly match MU. I see #9,10,11,12 and #13 seeds that were not as good as Davidson

Sucks worse for Davidson.

Yes, Davidson was underseeded. Get over it. That's where their metrics and scheduling rules put them

+1.  Were they unfair to MU or to Davidson?

We can't complain.  Ok. State had to play an Oregon team that was not even close to a #12 seed.

We are right where we deserved to be, and Davidson
was right where they deserved to be.  Just because the
game was close doesn't mean the committee got it wrong.

We didn't play well....we have a knack for playing down to the level of our competition.  Davidson is good, probably 11 or 12 seed good, but we also didn't play like a 3 seed.  Goes both ways.

I think Nate Silver tweeted today this should have been a 11 vs 6 seed game.

Mu shot like crap from within 6 feet today.  Simple as that...

Davidson is a lot better than an 11 or 12 seed (skill wise).  They are seeded around there because of their schedule.  Put them in the A-10 and they are competitive for the top of the league (probably beat out Butler for third).

No way MU should have been a 6 seed.  I certainly don't see 20 other teams that should have been seeded higher than MU.

I personally thought we were a 5 seed (Top 20). If this game was a 5-12 matchup it almost was the classic 12 over 5 upset.

Thankfully it wasn't. Now we play Butler, who was in the Top 10 this year!

The 14th seeded Harvard is beating New Mexico with only 6 minutes left.

We see close games every year with 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and even 16th seeds involved. So i just don't get why some fans get all bent out of shape when their team struggles to beat one of these mid-majors as if it's some super rare occurrence?
