Does anyone have an explanation as to why Anderson is out there?  It's not like this is his first bad game?  He's poor on offense and defense and has not contributed in a positive manner in any way.  I just don't get it.

I am honestly so sick of Buzz playing Anderson so much. The only possible excuse before today for playing juan more than taylor is taylor's sketchy d. But we have seen in this first half, Juan cannot cover a good player or box out effectively. And not to mention, his offense his absolutely horrible. At least Steve brings excellent offensive rebounding and some scoring ability.

Taylor may not be as good defensively as JA, but there's no way he couldn't help more in a game like this. Juan hustles all the time but his offensive skill set is negligible.

Jake Thomas was out there to soak up a few minutes, let Vander not pick up a 3rd in the 1H

Offensively Juan is a bricklayer.

Steve could not have done worse.  JA got burned.

As opposed to JA's lock-down D??? ::)  Absolutely no reason that Taylor doesn't play more. Unlike most of these guys, he can actually hit a shot.

Give Anderson's 16 minutes to Steve.  He'll do better overall than 0-3, 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 TO, and getting burned a few times.

JA length helped from the Wildcats gunning three. Steve is more an inside guy.

JA is a better perimeter defender than ST.

Problem is that Juan wasn't defending the perimeter much in this one, whenever he was in it seemed that Davidson would post him up (rightfully so), and got dominated. Even if it is true that JA is a better perimeter defender, Steve is better in every other category and provides offense. Juan was absolutely abysmal on offense today and is not a threat whatsoever.

Normally when JA got stuck in the lane was due to a switch on a pick.  I agree that JA is a pretty terrible post defender, but Buzz wanted defense outside and that is who he went with.

It's a hard match-up for MU, when Cohen can score inside and from three. Can't single out JA for not scoring since the whole team was putting up bricks.

Yea i suppose that putting Juan in makes sense if he was to cover Cohen, given his outside shooting ability. Would have liked to see Taylor against De'mon (great name by the way), as he was more a post-oriented offensive player. O'tule absolutely dominated De'mon though so i guess that wasn't necessary. I guess i just would have liked to see Taylor get more of a chance to use his offensive talents when we were struggling all game to get the ball in the hole.

Hey, I by and large agree.  I've been on the #freestevetaylor bandwagon from the beginning.

Steve is not as good a perimeter defender, and is not as good as getting the scramble rebound.    I would have liked him to play more today, but Cohen would have destroyed him.   It will be revisited next year, but for the next few games, stick with what got you here.   If Butler's forwards attack off of the dribble like they did back in November, Steve will get minutes against Butler.

Yea, can't wait for his development. Once he learns how to use his feet defensively, he will be a beast with that frame.

I think Buzz has done an incredible job with the team this year overall, but one peeve of mine for awhile now is why Taylor doesn't get more minutes. Rarely does he not come in and give productive minutes.

Another guy i really think needs to produce more for MU to advance further is Lockett. Yea he had 11 boards tonight, but over the last 4-5 games he's been to turnover prone and largely non-existent offensively.

lockett also let a rebound get ripped out of his hands.
