Title: Fox Sports 1 and 2 on Directv
Post by: bigdog on March 20, 2013, 08:12:37 AM
Does anyone know when Fox Sports 1 & 2 hits the airwaves and where on Directv?

I know that Fuel and Speed are/were located in the 600's......Will the new stations be located in the 200's to be on the same side of the monopoly board as ESPN and NBC Sports?

Thanks

FS1 is debuting August 17th.  I haven't heard anything about what channel it'll be.

I'm wondering if FS1 will be a basic cable channel like ESPN, or will remain in the digital tier (where Speed channel is now on my cable system). I don't know if cable providers are even adding new channels to their basic tier or if they all go to the digital tier.

I know speed is on Directv's choice package, the second most basic package ( and no one signs up  for the entertainment package.) It there with mlb network, big ten network, nfl network, espnu, and like science channel and the cooking channel.

You would be surprised how many people sign up for Entertainment package.   A lot of people hate sports and because Entertainment doesn't have sports, a ton of people signed up for it.  A few channels are moving out of Entertainment up to Choice and above in April.
