Title: High Altitude Viewing Site
Post by: dgies9156 on March 19, 2013, 01:28:10 PM
Does DirectTV carry truTV? I'm on a United 737-900 from Chicago to FLL on Thursday and would like to watch the game on the airplane's DirectTV system? What channel is it?

Thanks

The other option is hoping they have wifi and using your laptop/phone/ipad to stream the game through the CBS web app.

Pray your plane has it.  I've been on a few United flights the last 2 months that didn't...some of the older planes without the LiveTV infrastructure.

I'm on a 737-900 that is a Continental jet. It's a new one as far as United is concerned.

I know what you mean though, Chicos. I fly about 80,000 miles a year on United and I'm still waiting for the first Wi-Fi installation on a United domestic service jet! The trip back is on a 757-200, which is a garbage scowl!

Yeah, had a conversation last week with someone from Cleveland that flew Continental for decades.  Hates the merger.  Can't believe the lack of WiFi on their flights....crazy.  I don't fly them often, usually American or Delta, but enough on United to Denver to wonder why their fleet seems to be dragging on the features.

It's there.  Seven cells down, 7 cells to the right.  Just put in channel 246 when you get on the plane...after you swipe your card for $5.   ;D

In my moment of darkness muscoop gives me hope.

At the exact time of the game I'm flying United Orlando to ORD.  Coming down was a 737-800 with no wifi or entertainment system.  I'm an American guy and did not realize they had 737-900s with DTV.  I'm going to church to light candles.

Will my hope turn into elation or crushed dreams?

(PS, my kids say this is the very definition of a first world problem)

Two years ago I was flying back to DC from San Diego, connecting in ORD during the MU-Syracuse Tourney game.  I landed shortly after halftime, and was able to catch the finish at an airport bar before sprinting across the airport to barely make my connecting flight on time.

I almost fell off the bar stool when DJO hit that 3.

Thanks Rocky.

My wife is going to hate me on the way down. We're in First Class and the children are in coach and we were hoping for some quiet romantic time. So much for that idea.
