Anyone else think that this is the kind of thing that Buzz would absolutely excel at using?

MU does have an outside contract with a company that does similar analysis to this, I don't think it is this advanced but I could be wrong, I ran into a guy in CA who works for that company that has the MU contract.  It was St. Paddys day so that is all of the details that I can recall at the moment

I actually went to a nerdy data analytics meetup (hey, it's my job) the other week and Brian Kopp, who heads up the SportsVU team, spent a few hours talking about the work they're doing.  He mentioned that they've been talking with some colleges, so I felt the need to tell him Buzz would eat it up, to which he countered that the Bucks are already a client.  I wouldn't be entirely shocked if MU was already getting some of this data.

What I found most surprising is that some of these teams consider the data they get from this system to be secondary - their primary concern is how can they use this to gain more $$$ in sponsorships - the "All-State potential assist" of the game or "McDonald's efficient rebounder" of the night.  They want to figure out how it can make them more money first, and then figure out whether they can use it to win games.

Being a data nerd and an obvious sports fan, I eat this crap up.
