I like the love he gives the Big East, he just has a hard time actually making sense when describing it
barkley loves the pac-10, he might get troll of the year award for that comment.

That's an Auburn thing.
I really can't believe they pay some of these guys money for their opinions.
Barkley is an idiot, and that may be offensive to other idiots out there.
Good start for the big east
I guess this means no Indianapolis for Indiana?
Awesome for BE
Oh oh. SLU at a 4
Oregon over Ok. St., calling that one now.
Hey good for SLU!
Tough draw for slu
Go Jays over Cincinnati!
Less chance of getting shipped to San Jose.
How is Duke the 2 with Louisville? They are really the last no. 2?
So who goes west if we don't- Bucky?

I just don't see how you can say the regular season champions of the Big East gets a lower seed than the A-10 champion.

#2 overall is a gift for KU, but their second matchup against UNC / VU isn't exactly a reward.
That's a really tough bracket, potentially.
These seeds are whacked....VCU a 5?? That might not be good for MU. Although Michigan a 4, maybe means MU got a 3.
Georgetown and Florida is a great game
Why do they think Minnesota is a tough draw for UCLA?
4 in the east with IU as the 1. UW a 4 also but out west with Gonzaga as the 1.
Let's see if I'm a wizard or pure guessing.

If the team that beat IU shows up, tough to beat. Poorly coached team though.
I've got an eery feeling we are headed to the east region with Indiana...I hope we land in gonzagas region but I bet they set us up with the Hoosiers.
No- good chance out west as a 4 with Gonzaga as a 1--if we get there, would be great
Damn would have liked to be opposite UNLV as a 4.

Butler rematch!!

Butler in 2nd round- surprising.
LOVE our draw
Putting a few first/second game rematches in this bracket. About the best draw to the S16 and we could hope for.
That is all

Surprised the committee didn't jump at the chance to set up a Former School Of Reggie Smith matchup/storyline.
3 seed!!!
Rematch against Butler in to go to the sweet 16!!!!
Possible matchup against Indiana for final 4?!? Sweet.
UW might end up being a 6. No chance as a 4.
The conference tourneys matter so much.
Wonder had we beaten ND if a 2 seed was a lock?
New Mexico, Ohio St. and Kansas St. are battling for the last 2, 3 and 4 seeds.
How do we get seeded higher than Syracuse?

Possibly if you win (Cuse). Apparently getting ousted and not getting wins (MU) wasn't a big deal to the committee.
Best part is were not out west either.

Sounds like we already lost to Davidson, according to espn guys.
New Mexico ends up with a 3 (probably should have had a 2) and the reward is to play Zona (should have been a 5).
Friggin awesome. Thank you, selection committee.

Big east with 8 and a10 with 5. B1g w 7. Nice to see.
Davidson has a lot of size and is a good 3-point shooting team. Not necessarily the best matchup for us.
So, Davidson, Butler, Miami and then Indiana. One game at a time.
Stephen Curry ain't walkin' through that door.

Best win is at home vs. #71 Montana. Played Duke, New Mexico, Gonzaga and came no closer than 14. They lost at UWM. If we don't destroy them it would be a colossal failure.
Davidson and Butler? I'll take that path to the Sweet 16.
And so begins the annual MU Scoop tradition of discussing how good the double-digit seeded first round opponent is and how we should be really, really nervous.

I think we can beat ND and I watched ND beat Marquette the other night. This is definitely a winnable game.

Game in Lexington Thursday. Close to Davidson, though I doubt they travel well. About the best location we could have hoped for distance wise.

To be fair, long before any Scooper said anything Dick Vitale picked that game as one MU should be very, very nervous about. Bilas immediately concurred.

And maybe they're right. But I don't see it.
Davidson is not a great shooting team, nor do they have much size. And MU should kill them on the boards (Davdison ranks 212th in the nation in rebounding).
Not the kind of team that's given MU trouble this year.
I'd be much more concerned with a Valpo, South Dakota St. or Belmont matchup.

On the plus side, game planning for Davidson is similar to game planning for Butler (albeit a simpler version as they don't have Clarke). Similar play style for the first two potential match ups.
In the end Davison, Butler and UW are all very similar style teams. Talent wise:
UW>Butler>Davidson.
So we have favorable match ups.
Negative side, these types of teams, when they are on they are world beaters.

#12 on the Official NCAA S-Curve. So we were viewed as a legitimate #3 seed by the committee, not a #4 that was bumped up for procedural purposes.
So, apparently that whole tied-for-the-BE-regular-season-championship thing carried some weight.

USA Today
Davidson is a veteran team with a top-notch coach in Bob McKillop, who began his career as a high school coach on Long Island. The Wildcats have a nice inside duo in De'Mon Brooks and Jake Cohen; they meet No. 3 Marquette in another East Region first-rounder.

NCAA committee chair just said on espn they no longer use s-curve for seeding. So why Louisville was #1 overall, duke was not the last #2. I think that's interesting. Didn't realize seeding was all location based now.

Unfortunately in this case I believe RPI lies. We're not the 13th best team in the country based on what I've seen. On some nights we've played like it, many nights not the case though.
Bilas has in the Elite 8 loosing to IU.

That's why earlier in the year I said they should be a 2 or a 3 seed. I'm not surprised they got a 1 seed, but I don't think IU has the talent to be up there. Too many 3 star kids playing major roles.
The RPI isn't the end all be all, but it's sure a lot better than that piece of crap political BS you call a human poll. That's for sure. Case in point, Gonzaga squeaking in as the last #4, which even then is a joke, yet they are the number 1 team in the country. LOL. They would have 4 to 5 conference losses if they played in the Big East or Big Ten.

Yes...we'll always win the quantity aware due to our size. Though this year the weighting is a big factor. Big Ten had something like 4 teams with a 4 seed or better (IU, OSU, MSU, UM)...worst seed a 7. Big East with a bunch above the 6 line. Nice of the A-10 and the Mountain West.
