Omaha newspaper running with story after sitting on it for weeks. Something changed today to make that happen. Thank you, Marquette, for advocating for us. I look forward to many years of healthy Jesuit competition!

Amen. MU needs to keep an eye on Isaiah Zierden. Can't let him get open from deep.
Great news, welcome to the Big East

ESPN now also reporting, rather than the daily speculation, that this is the 10 for the upcoming year. Welcome, Creighton, pleased to have you.
I heard Creighton grads pick their nose to show off their class ring.
I heard they think they are the Harvard of Nebraska [ /color]

Welcome to the New BEAST!

ABD is the new AMDG.
Pope Francis' influence already apparent in the Creighton is move.
PS Good omen for St. Louis, too.
Glad to have Creighton in the Big East!
Nice arena, great fan base and a winning team.
Welcome to the Big East, Creighton! Glad to have you and good luck in the tourney!
Outstanding and Welcome! I get up to Omaha about twice a year...vibrant, great city. Also went to the NCAA tournament in Omaha last year and they have a great arena and a loyal, passionate fan base for Creighton. Have been to the college world series there too....just a fun and festive environmenet. For MU fans, it is well worth the road trip. For competition, Creighton has really developed into a consistent, strong program again. Great to have them on board.

Jay Bee... you may have to change your handle lest people think you're a Creighton supporter. :P
But wait ... the NY Post said it was going to be Dayton!
Maybe they meant that's where the headless woman in topless bar would be found.
So MU won this disagreement with G-town. Does this mean that G-town gets to dictate at least one of the 11-12 teams?
Welcome Creightin! Nice addition!

If that's the case, welcome Richmond and SLU!
Never really paid any attention to Creighton. Are they consistently, competitive program?
Competitive? Crieghton?
Sure if you think beating indiana STATE and illinois STATE and missouri STATE and NORTHERN iowa means you are competitive....

Well those are their conference members. Not much they can do about that.
They are going to have to step it up, but with this new television contract, their revenues are going to be competitive in the Big East. IMO of the schools available, Creighton was the best of the group after Xavier and Butler.

Agreed. That is why I would love to stay at 10 like whoever it was that started the thread on that. Why bring in SLU if you aren't going to bring in a team that makes it worth bringing them in (for even numbers purposes)? If you aren't going to get Gonzaga (which you aren't), then SLU is not good enough just to be brought in, especially with Dayton being the other school you're going to go get. Now, if hypothetically speaking you had been able to get one of Notre Dame or Gonzaga to agree to join the New Big East, then I have absolutely no problem bringing in SLU to even out the numbers.
Having said all that, if you're going to 12 now I'd rather it be VCU and SLU than Dayton or Richmond being involved.
Probably the wrong thread for this post, but oh well.
As has been explained, Fox wants content. And content means bringing in more teams. And if that is what Fox is paying for, then SLU, Dayton, etc. are fine.

They also beat ASU, Wisconsin, Cal (@ Cal), won their conference, and their conference tourney. What more could you ask for? They've done everything they've been asked to

They DO get props for that this year .... but the weekly grind of that MVC is a bit easier...but then again the weekly grind of the NEW Big East won't be the same as the OLD BE....the road trip to Omaha isn't too bad albeit the best route does take you thru the outskirts of Madison....

Follow the yellow brick road, keep an eye out for flying monkeys, and you'll be fine.

8-1 against BCS teams the last two years with our only loss going to #1 seed UNC last year in the tourney.
Welcome Jay. Gonna be fun. And Omaha is a great town to visit. We'll expect you to roll out the Blue/Gold carpet on our first visit. And on your part, I'd certainly recommend a Milwaukee road trip.
Guess I better update my signature!
Yo Jays fans, what is Creighton's presence like in Kansas City? I've never been, but I'd imagine that they are all KU fans. But that doesn't preclude the possibility that they could also be Jays fans (hence my question), in much the same way that many people in and around Milwaukee root for both UW and MU (non students or alums of these schools I mean).
Ive been to Omaha and there seemed to be an affinity for Kansas City pro teams, basically Im wondering if the feeling is reciprocated (you guys even shared the Kings in the 80s if Im not mistaken).
KC is KU rock chalk Jayhawk all the way. Was there for the tourney few years back and you hear the rock chalk cheer and KU wasn't playing.
