UW-Michigan...1:01 seconds to go 1st half and it's 18-14 Michigan. A 4 point lead and UW is shooting...4-27 14.8% and 1-11 from 3...9%. If I'm a fan, i demand a refund. :o
Team is a joke, how can anybody enjoy or cheer for a team such as Wisconsin.
Is this the fundemental way to play ball bo?
At least they're stellar in the classroom, right?
The world laughs at the clown on the team named Ronald McDonald, and Evans who takes jump shots for free throws.
5 for 29 from field and only down three. Even Dackich said it sucks.
They went on a mini explosion scoring seven points in the last two minutes of the half.

In all honesty....everyone says "do they pass the eyeball test"?? UW to me frankly does not. There is no way they belong in the tourney. Think about this...they went 12-6 in the B10...BUT...if Traevon Jackson doesn't make a three at home vs Iowa that clanks off the rim, goes up in the air and kisses off the glass, Brust doesn't make a prayer 3 vs. Michigan, Minny doesn't miss two FT's with essentially no time left, and Traevon Jackson doesn't hit a freaking prayer vs. Penn State at the buzzer, how different would their season look?? In reality, they SHOULD be an 8-10 B10 team, and probably squarely on the bubble. They have been the LUCKIEST team in College BB this year.
Couldn't anyone make the same argument about Marquette or any other team that has had a few close calls? A win is a win.
This is Big10 basketball? Michigan is ranked #6? I feel sorry for UW fans that have to watch this year after year!

Not when you have won them on purely lucky shots like UW has.
The state of college basketball this year, may be the worst I ever remember.

A win is a win. If your thinking is correct then all the teams that lost those games against UW deserve to be thought of as winners since they lost on purely lucky shots. No one judges teams that way. They won the games and that is all that matters.

I couldn't agree with JDuquaine more! Wisconsin is a joke team and horrible to even watch. More like annoying.

Nah dude, its just that the B1G plays such good defense!!!!
Do the Badger fans in attendance storm the court for another win over Michigan? They did at the Kohl Hole even though Michigan hasn't won there in over a decade.

That is a ridiculous statement. Obviously they belong in the tournament. You can bring up all those examples and say "well if A, B and C didn't happen..." But they *did* happen. And that's all that matters.

I was on this trend in December and got lambasted by the elite of this forum but its hard to argue otherwise now.
As for Wisconsin, it's clearly a gimmick system that has devolved into little more then jacking 25 three-pointers a game. But it wins. And wins a lot. So, who are we to look down on it?

I've been saying that all year as well. CBB is a rough state.

Coaches control the game too much now. Everything is choreographed and fundamentals rule the day.
The other big problem is that the game has gotten too physical. I mean Louisville is a great defensive team and all, but they basically just foul the heck out of you from one end of the floor to the other. Our conference mates Georgetown started this brand of defense in the 80s and Arkansas raised it to the next level in the 90s and Louisville/VCU is the current evolutionary step. The cure right now (blowing the whistle every 4 seconds) is worse than the disease, but at some point we'll have to bite the bullet and make the game the more free flowing game it is suppsed to be. Having teams win championships that can't play great offense is an affront to the sport.
I'd still rather watch a Marquette basketball game than any other sporting event.
Second half alot better than first. Good win for the Bucky, not a good win for MU. This moves Bucky up some seed by beating #6 team.
Ugly first half but brillant 2nd half for UW.....Michigan limping to the finish line
And in the end, UW scored more points today than MU did last night.

Not by me my friend, been right there the whole year (and yes, took some hits for it). Some want to append the criticism as some kind of hit against MU...it isn't. College basketball is poor right now. Put another way, I think the 2003 MU Final Four team would be arguably one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the country this year, whereas in 2003 they were a top 10 team. Put another way, this year's Duke or IU teams would be more like 15th in the country a decade ago.
I still love the sport, love watching, it's just the performances, execution, overall talent isn't there or is very young, not sure which.
Some amusing stuff here. I am sure that the gimmick was able to put up 50+ in the second half and satify guru -the arbiter of all thing college hoops ( and I now know point scored is more imprtant that winning or losing) and beat the #6 team in the country.
Just because you have blind hate for something doen't make it bad. :-\

Good luck against a mid major in the tourney Butch. ;) Sure, scored 50 in the 2nd half, but why not mention the 5 shots made in the 1st half, and the 17 points?? It happened you know?? If UW is higher than a 6 or 7 seed in the tourney, it's a travesty. I'll do some research(maybe), to see if a team with an RPI that low has ever been seeded as high as a 4 or 5. I'm guessing MAYBE a handful througought the years.
I'd LOVE to see UW with a 5 vs. a play in Kentucky team, or a 12th seeded Davidson team. :)

Starting the half 6-7 from 3 certainly helps, ending it 6-9 does as well. And congrats on the win, but if you honestly feel Michigan is the #6 team in the country, you need to take the B10 homer glasses off.
You guys are quick to say Marquette is obsessed with Wisconsin but you're here less than an hour after a big win...
Wiscy won, MU lost. Butch has the right to talk, finally.

+1
Read a Butch post on other sites about MU and our kids don't go to class, we cheat, etc, etc
All this from a school ( UW ) that remains in the top 10 all time for NCAA probations. It's hilarious.
It is just easier to say we cheat than to lose to us so often. It is such a crutch that bears no weight.

butch is such a dick - talks MU crap all day long on the other boards and has the nerve to boast crap about blind hate...
The Badgers, because they do not turn the ball over and play solid defense can beat any team in the country.
I disagree. They play in a conference that does not pressure the ball a ton. If they were to play a team like L-Ville or as we saw in Florida a team that pressures the ball they get wasted
