Title: Establishing Gardner
Post by: M@RQUETTEW@RRIORS on March 15, 2013, 07:57:36 AM
Buzz's quote at half time.  "Too many line drive passes"  100% correct.  Especially from the top of the key.  Maddening! you teach middle schoolers not to do that.

Add to that DG was open on the low block numerous times when the ball was on the wing and they dont give it to him.  WTF

If I remember correctly, two poor entry passes that were stolen and D. Wilson's short-armed 2 footer in the lane in consecutive possessions let ND right back in the game when we had the chance to step on their throats. High turnovers with the slow pace we play at this year is so frustrating.

Gardner needs to stay on the floor too.

His second foul was so stupid, and you could see it coming from a mile away.  Gotta be smarter there.

Gardner is a mixed bag.  Can be effective on offense but while improved on defense, still not very good.  At least 2 big offensive rebounds by Cooley in the 2nd half were due to Gardner not laying a body on him.  He is fundamentally sound with the ball in his hands, but not on the other end, at least not consistently.

Im not talking about Garnder's defense.  The guards on this team have a habbit of not seeing him open in the post.  He gets them good shots.  Get him the damn ball.
